I was graciously invited by Jeff Fisher co/owner of Lux Annex Max Kierland to provide an estimate at his ground breaking concept. When I arrived I was pleasantly surprised to discover a nouveau pastry and coffee restaurant.
When you walk into the restaurant you are greeted by the most enthusiastic team members who are eager to serve your needs.
Here are the fine points of my review:
Ambience:
There is a certainty when you offer a “taste of awesome” wrapped in phenomenal food and crafted beverages. Inside this incredible place was pulsating music that invites you to stay. Frankly, I must admit I did not want to leave as well and it was apparent to the casual observer I was not alone. LUX Annex Max at Kierland was packed with customers. As I walked outside cars were parking to sample the “classy ambience” that filled LUX Annex Max’s environment.
Customer service:
Each team member went above and beyond to make sure I felt welcomed. And this extended to each and every customer who walked through the door. There was magic in the air that other coffee shops have lost and LUX Annex Max at Kierland has mastered the art of creating smiling events.
High quality pastries
I was surprised at the servings offered and the succulent coffee as I sipped at my whim and caprice. To my surprise I was told that all of the pastries are made in Phoenix and not in some warehouse bakery in another city or state. I must shamefully admit that the two lemon tea cakes I purchased one for myself and another for my wife never made it home. YUM......MY!!!!! They were so good that I’m driving over there right now (yeah it’s true!!!) to get more because I can’t tell my wife I ate her pastry.
In conclusion I give all thumbs up and recommend that everybody who reads this post stop what they’re doing and drive to one of their locations, you will agree that is one of the best of...

Decided to stop in and grab an iced coffee & breakfast burrito before work. I went in excited as it was my first time visiting this location. But unfortunately I was met with the least personable, shrewd and unhelpful host at the register. I don't understand. After I ordered I didn't know exactly how the system worked to retrieve my order, as I decided to sit down. I asked the host and she said they would call my name.
They ended up calling my name for the coffee. But I had to wait for the burrito, which was left on the counter without my knowledge. Everything felt off and a little nefarious.
I left and ate a quarter of my burrito and drank my coffee and started to feel very stomach sick about an hour later. It was to my surprise the symptoms were that of food poisoning! And I ended up having to leave work that day cause my illness escalated. I called Lux to inform them/kitchen of the food poisoning. I was told by the employee who answered the phone (a woman) that the manager wasn't available, but they would leave my name and number for the manager to get in contact with me.
Not even five minutes later I get a call back and the girl I spoke with claimed she was the manager and expressed she was sorry about my experience and would refund my transaction for the inconvenience.
Well I never received the refund that I was promised. And the whole situation seemed malice. I will never go back to this location. DO...
Read morePreviously I had given this place 5 stars but I’m going to have to change it due to the service I’ve experienced this past month.
I always order take out and when you do they typically bring it directly to you; however they apparently called my name (which I did not hear since the music was very loud as of late) and I waited over 30 minutes patiently. It wasn’t till I walked up (I waited another minute to get acknowledged) to ask if the takeout bag on the counter was mine. “Oh yes it!”.
It looks like the staff has changed which is understandable, but the food I ordered didn’t improve in tastiness. Matter of fact it has dramatically declined. Very disappointed..
My first review: ((This whole dish was throughly put together. In other restaurants you can tell they have no understanding of what Pico De Gallo should taste like. Jalapeño, Tomato and purple Onion to give it an extra kick. Most people stop there, but this Pico De Gallo was marinated perfectly in Lemon juice; therefore making it a perfect topping for an Avocado Toast. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste that I decided to leave this review after eating the first half of my toast. Thank you Lux staff for the welcoming service. Also make sure to pick up a ginger shot for good gut...
