Coffee Bean locations are so hit and miss with the customer service. Thank god the quality is consistent no matter where you go except for one location which I stay away from unless I do mobile app. I still tip because sometimes it is a thankless job.
The closest Coffee Bean is 20 minutes away from me, but I’ll drive the 25-30 to go to a better one. Since my drive is so far, it would be nice if they would update their current times on google maps, Yelp, their own website, and their app. That way people aren’t sitting around for 30 minutes ha. It’d be different if I was around the corner, but I’m not.
I’ve only been to this location once since it’s very far, and I wasn’t impressed with the service. The drinks were amazing as always, though. I’ll remain a loyal CBTL customer because their espresso is out of this world, and their corporate team is wonderful!
At the location I try not to go to, there was an instance where they messed up my drink four times in four back-to-back visits. I can only have the tiniest bit of caffeine, or else I’ll get arrhythmias and get sick. They also forgot the vanilla in my Americano once and gave me decaf three times. So, four times in a row after going there 4-5 times a week ordering decaf, I finally contacted corporate, and they got back to me quickly and refunded me my money with a CB gift card which I was perfectly happy with. They said they would bring it to the staff’s attention and do a training on it. Whether they did or not, I don’t know, but it was nice to know they gave an effort to please me, one customer out of the thousands (millions? haha) they have.
After that, I didn’t go back for a few months because I don’t have the time to risk them messing up my drinks even after it’s been verified it’s correct. It’s pricey too, and since I’m passed the VIP status, I’ve spent a lot of money there haha. Their rewards program is better than most, though, and they truly do have the best espresso!

As sad as I was I decided to try another drink and it was fine but not what I like. on my husband didn't know about this and the next day he went to order me my favorite drink and miraculously the product was back in stock. well today we go back again to order the same drink and once again we're told it's discontinued we have been in restaurant management before this is the poorest communication you could expect seriously corporate what are you doing here you need to get this store and get the employees into some customer service training and get the communication in the right place
I love coffee bean and their products but this location is aweful. Today I went through the drive through. When I got to the window to get my beverage, there was a sign that said I needed to wear a mask. That's not my argument. I was scolded by the drive through attendent for not wearing a mask. Two things here Coffee Bean Scottsdale. One you need to put a sign up LONG before anyone gets to the window otherwise YOU HAVE NO RIGHT to tell me to wear a mask in my own car if you asked me nicely instead of scolding perhaps this review wouldn't exist. My second issue is with the manager on duty today Kelsey. When I called she responded not with I'm sorry that happened her words "I'm sorry you feel that way". I understand they may be short staffed at times, and that staff is moved to other stores, but why is it always this store? Last week we came here and it said they were open until 3 PM. We got there at 12:45 and the doors were locked. There were people inside working only the drive-through. The sign on the door was not correct and they should have corrected that. We gave it another chance today, and sat down at 12:45, only to be told 12 minutes later that the store was closing at 1 PM and we needed to leave. The sign on the door said they are open till two. I cannot understand why the discrepancy all the time with what your door says, versus what the reality is. I am not sure that we will return to this location as we have been disappointed. The employees are wonderful, though I also am upset that today, while I was able to get my reward points for my drinks, for whatever reason, I could not pay with my app. What is the point of having an app to pay if it can do one thing but not the other?
