The absolute worst. Not a single person asked if I needed assistance (which to me is strange especially for a makeup store). I noticed they weren't terrible busy (considering there were three girls behind the desks not ringing anyone) so this was just absurd to me. I asked one employee if I could use some make up remover to take off some swatches I applied on my hand. She had the most judge mental look on her face. She looked so confused almost as if she didn't know she was working there. But I did get the make up remover...which was on the other side of the store at the Clinique booth. (You know, Sephora has remover on every isle but I mean, convenience of customers doesn't matter at this Ulta for some reason). It took me a while to find everything I needed because of the lack of employee interests in costumers. I felt uncomfortable walking around and not having insight on all the products. I somehow found the gut to purchase from this terrible store. I got to the counter, the lady asked for a phone number. Straight up, a phone number. She didn't give me a reason, so I ended up asking why (which, again, is strange because stores will usually tell you why they want a number and they also usually ask towards the end of the purchase if you'd like to join their rewards program and all that jazz). She then told me it was their rewards program, which made sense to me but the execution of the question was just weird. I then said I didn't want to be a part of the rewards program (I didn't shop for makeup often anyway and probably wasn't coming back to ulta ever again after this experience) and she stared at me as if I was crazy for rejecting the offer. She then rang up the products and then towards the end threw me this rewards card (not like in the air throw but like, a sliding throw so the card ended up next to my bag which was on the counter). She told me it was a rewards card (ok cool) but no other information. I don't know whats on it, i don't know what it does, I don't know how this "point" system works and I didn't want to be a part of it anyways - that's why I didn't give her my number in the first place. I didn't ask either because I was just so over it. Overall, it was not a good experience. The employees could have and should have been loads nicer. I spent around $40 dollars here and felt awful right after, why? Not because of what I purchased but the fact that a fraction of my money is going to the workers who made this shopping...
Read moreThis location has TERRIBLE customer service. I am a retail worker myself and im pretty patient/understanding with other workers, especially during the holidays. it took me not one, but two horrible experiences to write this. The first time i had gone in to make a return, waited in line like normal. When it was my turn, the open cashier turned their back and started talking to a couple other employees behind the counter. I thought it would be brief, as they had a whole line still. I waited two minutes until I just decided to walk up to the open register. They STILL continued to talk to each other, and most of them did not have their back towards customers so they could very well see me. These employees and a freaking MANAGER were talking poorly about customers, right in front of other customers when they still had a line!! I finally said something after five minutes and an employee processed my return.
The next instance, I had gone in looking for a fragrance. I knew what notes I was looking for, but none of the testers had descriptions of the perfumes. So I went looking for an employee who was knowledgable and could point me in the right direction. Two employees saw me walking up, but turned their backs on me. So I had to wait in line just to get help because there was no one else working certain sections. Seems like managers aren't adequately staffing at this location. I was directed to (you guessed it) a manager to help me find a perfume. I honestly think it was the one from my last visit talking smack about a customer. She seemed a little rude to her cashier. I told her I was looking for some perfumes with orange or sparkling notes, and she immediately snd rudely said "Yeah we don't have those here.". Didn't offer to maybe look some up in the system, or anything close. Pretty she just didn't know what she was talking about, because it took me a quick search to find fragrances with those notes/similar after I had left, and I had recounted FIVE that I had saw while shopping within the first minute, including some of their best sellers. Maybe the company I work for has high standards, but it would be UNACCEPTABLE not to offer anything else, or have another employee who's more knowledgable take over and help out. That would've been easily a $100 purchase. Seriously...
Read moreI am so frustrated with this location specifically! Horrible customer service in the hair salon on 2 separate occasions. Occasion #1: A few weeks ago I called around 10am to set up a haircut/color. The woman I spoke with told me she had no openings until 4pm and I completely understood and told her I was happy to wait until 4. So I cleared my schedule for this⌠around 3:30 (literally 30 minutes before my hair appointment) I get a phone call from the girl who I guess was assigned to do my hair saying that she doesnât know why the girl I had spoken to originally made this appointment because she leaves at 7 and wonât have enough time. So instead of making it right, she tells me that she can do my haircut today and comeback tomorrow for the color? As if the last minute cancellation wasnât bad enough. I think anyone in their right mind would like to get their hair done in one visit. Frustrated, disappointed, and extremely inconvenienced I declined.
Occasion #2: Today I got out of work early and called around 1:30 to see if I can make an appointment for something that Iâve been trying to accomplish for weeks with this specific Ulta Salon, again, a cut/color. The woman I spoke with today right away was annoyed that I was trying to make an appointment the same day. She kept reminding me how today is a âHolidayâ âThe 4th of Julyâ as if I was stupid and didnât know that and was being inconsiderate of that. The business is open for 5 more hours, and somehow a potential customer is a inconvenience. I would understand if it was close to closing but there was definitely more than enough time. She even told me that the salon girls were planning on leaving early if they did not have any appointments. Clearly their priority is not the customers. However, so she could not sound like a total witch, she told me that she could take me if I came ASAP but canât do what I want regarding highlights, she could do a full color instead. I again, declined because I donât want my hair to take the damage because they want to leave early. And thatâs exactly what I told her. I am done trying with this Ulta Salon. I havenât even been able to make an appointment with them because the customers have to be convenient for their time! Ugh Iâm so frustrated! I just want my hair...
