I recently moved and have been searching for a new Greek place specifically one that serves chicken souvlaki. This was a difficult task but I saw that Mika’s had it and was near by one of my jobs so I decided to check it out. The pita bread and hummus were great. They’re very generous with how much pita bread comes with your food. I could eat just those two things and be happy! I also enjoyed the salad (specifically the taste and texture of their croutons). While the chicken smelled super good it was extremely dry and seemed like it was probably reheated from being made earlier in the day. What little flavor I could taste did seem like what I expected for souvlaki. Sadly the cashier wasn’t very friendly and seemed unhappy to be there which made this visit a bit uncomfortable. Even though my first impression wasn’t the best, I would give this place another chance in the future if I’m close by.

garbage. i thought the Greek food in Tacoma sucked, but this was just nauseating. No flavor, no garlic, small portions, and the Greek fries were just normal fries with a teaspoon of feta and some nasty vinegar sauce? Greek fries are supposed to have paprika, feta, garlic sauce (like the Lebanese kind - its blended oil and garlic cloves essentially) and oregano. maybe some salt and pepper. the rice, chicken souvlaki, Greek fries, and whatever the hell that tomato and red onion side was, were all flavorless. my hopes were dashed the moment I smelled the bag from grubhub. smelled like nothing. this is not Greek food. this is garbage. if you are visiting Phoenix or live here, I sure as hell hope you do not crave Greek food. I hope GrubHub will give me a refund.

Stopped by Mika’s Greek off 5th Ave and Thomas, and I’m glad I did! I ordered the small plate, which comes with one protein, one side, and one sauce but I added an extra protein to try more, and it was totally worth it. The beef and lamb gyro was packed with flavor, and the chicken was juicy and well-seasoned. The rice and small side of onion with tomatoes were fresh and balanced everything out perfectly. Everything tasted fresh and made with love, and the portions were just right. If you’re in the mood for Greek food in downtown Phoenix, I strongly recommend checking this place out. I’ll definitely be back to try more! #MikasGreek #DowntownPhoenixEats #GreekFoodDoneRight

Oohhh, I usually order a Greek Night Club pita with chicken, but upon feeling indecisive and learning that Mika's has online ordering...one of the meat choices listed was 1/2 chicken 1/2 gyro. Um, yes please! They had all sorts of options that you can customize with a simple click of a button (white or wheat pita? no onions? extra sauce? cut in half? etc. Boom! Done.) It even gave me a pick-up time and I received text notifications when my order was in-process and ready for pick-up. Having already paid online, I just walked in, was handed my bag, and went on my way. The whole process was very simple, convenient, and fast! Plus, I didn't have to mispronounce gyro over the phone. Hahaha. Score!

My pita was excellent ~ stuffed full of gyro, chicken, lettuce, tomato, onions, kalamata olives, tzatziki, and feta! Mmm! It was a little on the salty side, which I actually like, but just something to consider if you're sensitive to that sort of thing. The side greek salad was also very good. One of these days I'll get around to trying the lentil soup...

All in all, you can get a great, fast, filling meal here for less than $10, that you feel good about...

I spent $21 on a large plate of gyros beef and lamb it was pretty greasy to start with... I ate it because I was hungry and I've had worse. But you get one little tiny side of tzatziki which got me through almost half of my plate. I asked if I could have one more and they wanted to charge me another dollar for a little tiny bit of sauce... Which with a large plate you should at least get two of those but they wanted to charge me another dollar... I figured $21 at least deserved one more little sauce but she was pretty insistent and said nobody ever asks or complains about having to spend another dollar on that... I couldn't eat anymore and I just left all my food there.. I'll go home and cook my own food and I drove over 150 mi and I try to take advantage of getting some good Greek food when I have to travel all the way down here from the mountains because they don't have any Greek food which I am a lover of.... I'll stick with the other Greek restaurants that I know of that are a 100 times better than this....p.s somebody needs to clean the bathrooms or the septic tank it smells like a...

Mika's Greek is a good and affordable lunch option for vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores alike. I had the veggie plate with grape leaves, pita, hummus, and their lentil soup. The staff were extremely attentive to our lunch group and very helpful when I talked to them about their vegan options. The interior is nice, clean, and open without all the nonsense that some Mediterranean restaurants fall into.

Overall a solid choice. I rate it at 4 stars instead of five for three reasons. 1. It isn't the best Greek food I have ever had and I usually save 5 star reviews for the best of the best, 2. I wish there was a mezze type platter that just gave you every veggie option on a plate rather than a lot of grape leaves (falafel, grape leaves, hummus, and soup together), and 3. In this day and age of allergies, they really should explicitly mark what has dairy in it and what does not. Simple menu update and we would...
