First when I walked in with my girlfriend on a Saturday morning to have brunch. Heard very good things about the place and wanted to give this a try! Walked in and it felt very homey and cozy, very relaxed atmosphere. We arrived at 10:15am. Our waiter was very nice and friendly got our drinks in about 10 minutes after seating. Another 15 minutes go by and we received our drinks. My girlfriend ordered the triple berry refresher and received a yellow/orange smoothie. It contained pineapple in which she is allergic to and we had to call the waiter over and ask what was in the smoothie to confirm and our drink was remade. Seemed very odd we received a completely different item than what she ordered. Very scary moment as she was allergic. Everything was fine though afterwards. Time passes to 11:30 and we finally received our food. Both of our dishes were ice cold and the wait was not worth it due to it being cold. In my dish which was the French toast. As I’d cut into it I did find hairs and was disappointed. My girlfriend’s dish was also very cold and couldn’t finish half the plate due to it being unappetizing. To conclude, the atmosphere and people there are friendly, however the waiting around for food and the lacking focus on our dishes was concerning. Will not return. UPDATE: the place decided to call us a few hours afterwards. Told us that our experience was false and we should remove the review. It’s quite unprofessional to be told we can’t voice our opinions or experiences. We left our number and name when we walked in thinking it was for information about us/table. Not for them to call later on and tell us we were wrong to think what we did and to leave a bad review. Extremely immature and...
Read moreI've been wanting to try this place for a while. I love brunch and trying new places, and this place has been on my radar a bit... I gave my name and number at 12:00 pm and the place was pretty busy so I had high hopes. I was told it may be 30-40 minute wait and the kitchen is a bit behind... willing to wait out the rush, I drove across the street to Padre Murphys for a few drinks. Around 45 minutes later, still no call, I cashed out and drove back across the street to Monae, to a much emptier restaurant, and was sat immediately.. We were greeted by a very friendly lady who thanked us for coming in. We were provided water, so far so good, so I thought.... over 6 minutes later, while watching what looked to be a staff gossip gathering, we were finally given the opportunity to order. We planned to order 3 dishes and two coffee beverages, but we found out they do not have regular coffee, which my friend ordered, and the server suggested an americano as a replacement. He did not want espresso, so he opted out. We were then asked to wait for her to see if there was still breakfast/brunch food... at 1 pm, at a brunch place that closes at 5 pm? I was confused. We were told that only the omelet dish we wanted was available and not the french toast. She probably could have promoted a different dish or given a recommendation to make us stay, but didn't. I love supporting new places and enjoy raving about local eateries on my social media. The food looks and smells amazing here. I wish we had an opportunity to try it... we decided not to stay...
Read moreA friend saw the cafe online and we agreed to meet here yesterday. From the moment I walked up to the door, I was in anticipation. Then, entering inside, I was pleasantly surprised. It was not what I had expected: the ambiance, the welcoming feel of home, comfort, and peace were what I felt. I loved the fact that we could sit ourselves at a round table and have a more intimate conversation or engage a little more formally at square tables. The fact that there was something for everyone, including cute, comfortable couches made me fall in love. The esthetic is beyond what I have seen at any other cafe.
The service is impeccable. We were given updates on the wait time for our food, which was served fresh and so beautifully. We ended up enjoying our first visit so much that we ended up accidentally running into one another again this morning, her with her mother and me with my aunt. Once again, I enjoyed a great conversation while experiencing another mouth-watering meal that was beautifully presented. Even when my aunt had to leave, I was able to work and continue to enjoy the atmosphere with great, positive music in the background.
The owner is pleasant, very down-to-earth, friendly, and engaged with us throughout both visits. If you enjoy trying new things and love to brunch and are seeking a place to eat without feeling rushed and want to be able to hear yourself and a friend or two as you eat and spend time together, this is...
