Suspected Food Poisoning from New China Buffet on 6/25/2023

Dear New China Buffet Management,

I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning incident that occurred during a recent visit to New China Buffet on June 25, 2023. Regrettably, I suspect that my family may have experienced food poisoning as a result of consuming food at your establishment.

On the aforementioned date, both my mom and brother dined at New China Buffet and partook in a variety of dishes from your buffet. However, shortly after consuming the food, they began to experience severe symptoms including intense nausea, repeated vomiting, and extreme dehydration. The onset of these symptoms closely followed the meal at your restaurant, leaving them with a strong suspicion that the food consumed there may have been the cause.

I wanted to reach out to inform you about this situation and provide you with the necessary details for your records and investigation. The specifics of the visit are as follows:

Moreover, the dishes consumed included lo mein, beef & broccoli, mandarin chicken, and shrimp during my visit. They did not consume any other meals around that time that could potentially account for the illness.

Considering the severity of the symptoms and the timeline of their occurrence, they sought medical attention following the incident.

I kindly request that you investigate this matter promptly and take appropriate measures to ensure the safety and well-being of your patrons. Additionally, I urge you to review your food handling and safety protocols to prevent similar incidents in the future.

I have retained the receipt from their visit and am willing to cooperate with any further inquiries or investigations that may be necessary.

I made an unplanned stop for lunch when I saw the buffett sign and decided I needed a break from the unusually heavy traffic that day. My expectations are not the highest when it comes to a buffett but this is one I would definitely make a return visit too. The lunch featured a very nice selection of various dishes such as Kung Pao Chicken, Black Pepper Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, the various fried chicken "tenders" like Sesame Chicken, Genral Tso's, BBQ, fried, etc. There was also several varieties of fish including fried calamari, along with several shrimp dishes the best being a head-on mildly spicy whole shrimp of a very generous size probably about a 20 count (jumbo) size. Very nice and all very tasty. I thought their noodles and fried rice were both better than normally found.

I did notice the lack of chopsticks although I also didn't ask so they very well may have them available. Don't miss the chili oil on the end of the first table !

The price was $15.53 for the lunch buffett and included chocolate or vanilla soft-serve ice cream, several cake type of pastries, and the usual salad/fruit station.

The inflationary pressures we're all dealing with are becoming a bit of a shock and I know it has to be very difficult for these "mom&pop" type places to pass on their escalating food costs and make it worthwhile to remain in business but this place exceeded my expectations and I will be back, it's a...

I don’t even know where to begin with .. As soon as I opened the door the lady from across the room asking me if it’s take in or out like let me get first and greet me lol she was doing that to all customers coming in not greeting just yelling from across the room while sitting down . And OMG I paid $16.50 just for me that’s over priced for a place that don’t have good customer service and the food just nasty not tasty at all half way done not a lot of variety I didn’t even ate it all and let me tell you this girl LOVES to eat I thought I try that place since is closer to home .. I been to buffets less than this with more variety and food that’s cook all they way maybe it was more pricey because of the shrimp and crabs legs they had … NOT EVEN they grab legs...
