Some coworkers and I tried this place out after having a coupon. It's tucked away and hard to miss. It's a fairly small shop, but a nice backyard open area with seating. I felt a little out of place being in my mid 40's as it seems to be a local millennial hipster hangout, but the staff were friendly and they took our order quickly since there were not many customers even though it was noon. The menu was kind of fancy for my everyday eating, but I ordered the Cuban sandwich. I was disappointed that for almost $10 for a sandwich, no side or drink came with it. We were there on our lunch break so only had an hour to eat and were just about to ask for our money back and walk out after 30 minutes and not receiving our food. I'm not sure what the delay was as it wasn't busy. We ate our food and my Cuban was delicious. Sadly it was quite a small portion and we left there hungry. I think if they offered at least a side with the sandwiches it may be worth their high prices since the food was so good, but because it took a half hour to get our food and the prices are too high for what they give you, we won't return. I guess if your're a 20 something kid with no job and there to spend mom and dad's money to hang out and eat, it's no big deal if the food is pricey and it takes a while to...
Read moreThis place has become more and more popular. So much so that it went viral. My hubby and I decided to go for brunch on a Saturday around 10 am. The place was busy! The parking situation was confusing. You kinda have to figure it out. There's a very small parking lot east of the building that is shared with other businesses. The other option is parking across the street. The street is not a street you want to cross and j-walk. So you have to go all the way around to use the light crosswalk. Once you get to the place, you submit your order. I would recommend you figure out what you want ahead of time! Then you have to find a place to sit. I had no idea how things went. I wish the staff would have given u suggestions. All the tables were taken so we decided to change our order to take out. My husband went to grab the car while I waited for the food. Then, the waitress told us there was a table open after about 10 minutes. So my suggestion is to simply wait for a table to open. I ordered a honey lavender iced latte. Delicious. I also ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes with a side egg. Not my favorite compared to what my hubby got. He got the sunny burrito! Highly recommend that! It's a quaint place that serves good food but it's trending so be...
Read moreI ordered the nova lox bagel. It comes as an everything bagel toasted. The inside of the bagel was nicely brown but the outside appeared burnt. It was also very very hard. I cut it in half and proceeded to do my best to eat half of the bagel. I finished almost the first half, and just couldn't get through the rest due to the severely hard outside of the bagel, burnt sesame seeds and poppy seeds. We brought it to the front and they offered to make a new one. A few moments later my husband comes back with a to- go box and I stated that was quick. He was told by management that it wasn't burnt just toasted and they would indeed not be fixing the issue.
Based on the half I attempted to eat but couldnt due to extreme bitterness from the burnt parts and extremely hard bagel, plus the photos provided of what was left for me to eat; I sure do think this was not handled correctly by the management. We don't eat out much anymore and this was a new place for us to try as a special occasion breakfast. Honestly will not be returning. Banana bread was also dry, chorizo burrito small.
They do have a nice atmosphere outside in the back and the cashier was very friendly...
