I went here for Cinco De Mayo and this place is amazing. We went around 6pm and the place was about half full and getting busier as the night went on. There was both indoor and patio seating and the staff was masked. We sat inside at the bar in front of the kitchen. We didn't get drinks but we saw many cocktails made and they all looked delicious. We started with the Guacamole and street corn. The chips were fresh and crispy. The Guacamole was fresh with an amazing flavor. All Guacamole lovers should try this. The corn was another great appetizer. It was fresh, warm and tasted amazing. If you love Elote you should try this one. My main dish was the chicken enchiladas with red sauce. These enchiladas hit the spot. They were full of chicken and cheese and the flavor of the red sauce on top makes me want them again right now. The enchilada plate came with rice and beans that were also amazing. Not the typical can tasting beans and bland rice you get at some places. My date had the build your own tacos and they came out looking like something staged in a food magazine. The presentation was impressive. I stole a few bites of the shrimp taco and again the flavors were amazing. The house green and red salsa are also not to be overlooked. Overall this was a great meal and I will be back. This was actually a last resort place for us as the other place was to busy. I'm so glad we ended up here and found a new restaurant to put in the rotation. I only wish I had pictures to share of this amazing Mexican food. Thank you for the great meal.

PS. The staff was very nice and attentive and the food was prepared and served timely. Even if the food was to take a long time to be made it would be...

Presidio Cocina Mexicana has officially become one of my favorite go-to spots in Phoenix. They’ve moved to their new location just off 7th St, north of McDowell, and from the moment you walk in, you can feel the great energy and welcoming vibe.

On my first visit, I ordered the trio fajitas with chicken, steak, and shrimp, served with rice, beans, and fresh tortillas. Everything was flavorful, but the steak stole the show so much so that I came back and ordered the steak fajitas on my second visit, and they were just as incredible.

I also had their hibiscus drink (Jamaica), and it was perfectly balanced not too sweet, just how I like it.

I wish I remembered the name of the gentleman who helped walk me through their tequila selection, but he was extremely knowledgeable. You can always tell a great spot by the tequila they serve and Presidio doesn’t disappoint. They don’t just serve the basic branded stuff. They carry real, quality tequilas that you’d find in top-tier spots in Mexico.

If you’re craving delicious, authentic Mexican food with great service and a solid drink menu, I highly recommend Presidio Cocina Mexicana. I already know what I’m ordering next time the chilaquiles. Can’t wait to be back!

I've been coming here for a long time - I first left a review 6 years ago. I'm editing my review from 5 to 2. I can't begin to express how disappointed I am that you've removed the barbacoa tacos from your menu, because they were quite simply the very best in the valley. You replaced them with the birria plate - quesabirria tacos, so I gave them a go. Completely uninspiring. The meat was surprisingly unseasoned - seemingly not simmered in the broth, and the consomme was sadly lacking as well. Bland, boring, no "three chiles" flavor, no hint of cinnamon, no spice, zero heat. Just blah. Which, coming from a middle aged white guy from Canada, is a pretty strong statement. I will also add that you should ask if I want onion and cilantro and add it, rather than providing it on the side because peeling apart a fried taco welded together with cheese to add it is not ideal. This is a serious step backwards for a place that has always had really excellent food which makes me very sad.... My original review from 6 years ago - This place sucks don't eat here!!!! That way I won't ever have to wait for a table! Seriously though, the food is excellent, and the service is friendly and they...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 – My Favorite Spot for Authentic Mexican Food! Presidio is hands down my favorite place for authentic Mexican food — and for good reason. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warmest, most attentive staff who made me feel right at home. The vibe of the restaurant is just as incredible as the food — the aesthetic is stunning! It’s got that perfect mix of cozy, vibrant, and stylish that makes you want to linger and savor every bite. Now, onto the food — absolutely phenomenal. I ordered the carne asada tacos, street corn, beans, rice, and a margarita, and everything was bursting with flavor. The carne asada was tender and seasoned perfectly, and the street corn had just the right amount of spice and sweetness. The margarita? Next-level refreshing. And don’t leave without trying the churro dessert with ice cream — it’s a must. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and paired with creamy ice cream that ties it all together beautifully. I can't say enough good things about this place. Amazing staff, amazing food, and a killer atmosphere. I’ll be back again and again!

If you’re looking for authentic Mexican cuisine paired with top-notch customer service, look no further! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality that instantly made us feel welcome. The food? Absolutely incredible. Every dish was bursting with flavor—from the perfectly seasoned mole (best mole ever) and tender carne asada to the rich, creamy queso fundido that tasted freshly made to order. You can really tell they use high quality ingredients and traditional recipes that have been perfected over time. The portions were generous, and everything came out hot and beautifully presented. What really sets this place apart, though, is the service. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. They were attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and truly passionate about what they do. Whether you’re craving a casual taco night or celebrating something special, this restaurant hits every mark. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly, highly recommend!
