Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Phoenix

Stopped by my neighborhood Sonic for an afternoon snack over the weekend. The place had its expected normal crowd, fairly busy. Though it was jumping and a lot of coming and going I was still able to get my order promptly and was accurate as well. Love my neighborhood Sonic. I've been to some not-so-great locations throughout the Valley.

I used to think highly of my local Sonic location but sadly I'm having to update my review based on my more recent visits over the past 4-6 months. They used to be fast, accurate, and reliable but turned into just another slow and frustrating fast food option. You will either be waiting awhile for your food(most of the time it's waiting for them to respond after hitting the order button), your order is wrong, or you're ordering something you didn't initially want due to something not being available. Sonic's is mostly known for its dessert menus, but won't serve any of it the last 2 hours before it closes. I've lost count of the number of times I was there 2/3 hours before closing and told they were not serving ice cream(shakes, malts, nothing).

I decided to give it another try after my last visit was a disappointment and this was no better, it was worse. Do yourself a favor by avoiding this location. It's unfortunate because not only do I love Sonic's dessert options but this location is within walking distance from my home. What appears to be more unfortunate is the owner/management doesn't seem to care one bit. All the complaints, including mine, from my last visit are the same or stem from the same issue but nothing has been done to rectify it. And that is the customer service. Tonight around 9 pm I waited at a stall for at least 10 minutes (no exaggeration) but not a single response or acknowledgement. I pulled in the drive-thru and did get a response this time within a minute. But the response was rude, abrupt, and attitude. And it appears to be the same immature female worker that most of these negative comments are about. She never greets you rather start with I kid you not, "What is your order". Not your typical welcome to Sonic how can I help you type of greeting. She might as well be saying "What do you want". And it gets worse. Here is how it went:

Her: what is your order? Me: hi. Can I get a #11? Her: Size? (interrupting me as I was telling her the size I wanted) Me: Large Her: drink? (Interrupting me as I was telling her my drink choice) Her: frys? Me: no. May I have tots instead, please? Her: calls out a total that I don't recall Me: I'm sorry I need to order a few more things. Her: silence Me: is that OK? Are you still there? Her: what is it? Me: 2 grilled cheese sandwiches, one small tot, and a large strawberry banana shake. (I call it all out at once in one breath to match her short and abrupt manner) Her: how many fries and what shake? Me: no fry. One tot. And it was a large strawberry banana shake. Her: size? Me: large. Her: twenty-five eleven.

And after all that the order was still incorrect. No tots. Two frys. And a strawberry shake, not the strawberry banana I ordered. Also, I was aware Sonic charges for condiments now. Though I wasn't asked nor did I request it, I got 2 Buffalo sauces and charged .80 for them.

Until the problem gets resolved I will not be returning to this location. And to make sure my loved ones, friends, and coworkers don't have to be treated like this, I will be sure to warn them and insist on avoiding...

Fast Service I hit the Red Button and within 30 Seconds maybe more or less idk someone Answered and I work for Door Dash and they Said they just Completed the Order and Wrapped it up for me and asked if I needed a Drink on the House for Waiting for the Order & Driving for Door Dash and being Respectful and acourse I said "YES" for the Drink cause I didn't even have a Water and was really Thirsty so they were Really Respectful and Really Nice even if I wasn't working today I would go up there and Buy Food or Drinks for myself and my Girlfriend around 9pm to 10pm cause I would want to have the Same People Working cause they were Smiling the Whole time I was there so this is a Place I would take my Family too or even take my Friends to if we wanted something to Drink or Eat and hangout for a bit there and actually get out of my Vehicle and sit at the Tables for a bit and not be in a rush to leave cause the Place is 'Garbage' so Yea.. This Sonic at this Address is a Really Nice Location to Go to if you Plan on Going to Sonic for Food or Drinks with Family or Friends.. I actually Ordered a Chocolate Shake while waiting for my Door Dash Order and when they brought it out the Guy asked me if I wanted them to give me a Different Cup cause the Lid was alittle Broken and he didn't want it to Spill in my Car and said he would go and Fix it that if he noticed before he brought it oit he would have Fixed it already plus he gave me some Chilli Tots for that Happening cause he told his Manager and someone Ordered some Chilli Tots and was really Rude and was an Asshole and told them to just Keep the Food cause it was just that after he paid for it and so they just gave it to me Instead so it wasn't wasted cause they hate throwing away food they just made cause it fills like you did that for nothing so atleast someone is eating it so yea Really Nice Location to...

So caught these folks cheating with their performance numbers. From my other review you know I am a super huge fan of the mobile ordering oh, I order the food I arrive at check-in and typically less than 30 seconds later the food is in my hand and I am leaving. Today I arrived, the check-in screen disappeared. I wasted several minutes trying to figure out where my order went. I then went inside and asked if they had my order they. They did. I then proceeded to wait an additional 10 minutes for them to bring my food while watching them serve a long line of drive-through customers. When the girl finally delivered my food I ask what happened and she was kind enough to explain that there's a glitch in the system that lets them post the order as delivered so they're serving times look wonderful, somehow they're able to do this prior to me checking in. And that's why the order disappears. So wasted 15 minutes of my time so they could show they delivered the food faster than they...
