My wife, son (16mos) and myself came to Irene’s today to enjoy the vegan food vendor. The line ended up being over an hour wait for the food. No biggie- but we opted to go inside. We found the cupcake table and I purchased my pregnant wife a cupcake from the vendor as a gesture, so she could enjoy while I got myself a mimosa.
I went to stand in line at the register, one gentleman in front of my got a drink and paid. Then I was up. Nobody came to take my order after a few minutes. I decided to not get the drink. I went to sit down with my wife and son on the couch and the waitress came over and asked if we were okay. I said, yes, we’re just enjoying the cup cake. She kind of scoffed at us and gave me a cold shoulder. While walking out, on the food truck tent- I saw the note posted about someone needing to buy something inside in order to sit inside. I did not see this sign before. I also tried to purchase a drink- but did not get any service. Misunderstanding, but the cold shoulder wasn’t necessary from the waitress/ bartender. Maybe an explanation or just informed us of...
Read moreThis is an excellent Craft Beer and Wine bar in North Central Phoenix. I really like coming to this place after work as well as late night. Great selection of beers, wine, and mead actually when I came by today. Atmosphere is the big draw (at least for me) very chill, blues rock/traditional hard rock on the speakers.
A couple TVs are present, sports pretty much every time I have been. Watched suns nba playoffs run here last year (2021)
At least one Owner has been present when i was there, working the bar, talked to him a bit seems like a cool guy.
The game changer for this bar vs others in the area is the live entertainment. Great "up-and-coming" acts roll though, local bands, comedy night, all kinds. They have a well updated social medial presence on Instagram which really impresses me, let's you know what entertainment is going on and what's up coming.
All good things from me, it's the neighborhood...
Read moreI visited Irene’s early in the night and while the owner was about to close shop, he let me enjoy a few beers while he did his closing duties. That already made my night! Any establishment that puts their customers first and goes out of the way to accommodate is a A+ grade in my book. They have an extensive list of Beer & Cider on-tap as well as Wine Pours by the Glass. If you are into trying a wide spectrum of beers, they offer half pours to please your palate. I enjoyed a Sour Beer, Pastry Porter, and Cider during my visit which all were exemplary. I also took away a Candy Cane Stout from their To-Go Refrigerator. You can pick any of their cans and/or bottles from the fridge and enjoy in their establishment or back at home (No Roadies in the state of AZ :). I will proudly support this Beer Beer and look forward to catching live music on...
