Edit: Changed rating to 3 because of the reply. Thank you for your explanation. I do believe that the possible misconception of the app should have been accounted for before signing up to use the app. No refund needed, I appreciate your response.
I do want to say - it isn't a 5 because it shouldn't be put on your customer to ask for a manger if the employee is confused. If the employee doesn't know what is going on - THEY should ask their manager - the customer doesn't know what you intend to include in something labeled "surprise." As a manager myself, this is a very rude response and deflects the responsiblity you have as a business owner to keep your staff up to date on your policies.
Original Post: So I have had food from here twice, both solid food experiences, crowded but I did pickup so didn't have much of a line. Today I used the app "TooGoodToGo" - First time using the app, went with a familiar option (Nosh). Their pickup window is 1250-120 - I got there at 110 - so a bit late. When walking in, people staired and slowly approached me - When mentioning the app I was using - the guy seemed very confused and gave me very odd looks - Once I explained to him and showed him the app he told me to grab a single bag of 4 bagels - I paid $5 for the "surprise bag," not expecting much but expecting $5 worth of food since it is advertised as being $15 but having price slashed to $4.99. I do not feel that these 4 (being a tad dramatic here) stale/day old bagels is worth the $15 you advertise it is worth.
TLDR: Felt judged for using a discount app - Had to explain to the staff what the app was - don't feel I was given the worth that was advertised to me.
A lot of this was my perception of the situation - I believe the employee was just confused - May not have had judgement but with how quickly he handled the situation - i didn't feel helped and...
Read moreHad a bad experience on my first and last visit here. I called in an order for pickup and when we asked to pay over the phone the employee stated that it would be easier (for her) to pay in person. She stated that we would not have to wait in line, that we could just jump the line and just pay for our food. When I got there I went to the "online order pickup" line assuming this is where they meant I would not have to wait since I did not want to be rude to the other customers in line and short cut. There was one person ahead of me in the pick up line and once she was helped the employee walked quickly away from the counter and ignored that I had already been waiting. Other customers came in after me and got in the regular line. Finally a few minutes later the employee that had ignored me asked what I needed. I informed her I was picking up an order. She asked if I had already paid and when I told her that I hadn't she told me to pay at the register so I had to get in line after the people who got there after me. When I finally got to the register to pay I found out they were missing a coffee that I had to wait for them to prepare. When I got home I discovered that hash browns were missing from the meal that I ordered. My boyfriend called to let them know and he was told that he would be getting a refund to his card. Two days later there still was no refund. He called again and spoke to an employee named Darcy who told him that we had to go into the store for a refund. I went out of my way to get the refund. I arrived 1 pm to see a sign on their door stating that they had closed at 12pm (on July 3rd) for the 4th of July holiday. Save your money and avoid the headache. Their food wasn't worth...
Read moreWe have been going here for quite sometime now. Service is usually decent. Food is always made to order. However there’s recently been a shift. Went this past weekend, husband ordered a breakfast quesadilla, my daughter and I both ordered a bagel breakfast sandwich. Husband’s food came out within 10 mins. He finished his food and we went and checked on ours. Said they were still making it. Ok fine. They had a consistent line. 37 mins later, THIRTY SEVEN, yes, we get up to ask again if our food is going to be ready soon. It finally comes out. I’m sorry but a bagel sandwich shouldn’t take 37 mins. Not when we see tables around us getting food before us and they sat after us. Not to mention, our table plus 3 other tables around us said their food order was wrong! And because they were “busy”, everyone opted to just keep whatever they got, as did we. It’s too expensive to eat out anymore. Your order should be right and the workers who were running the food just shrugged their shoulders and said ok instead of trying to make it right. They clearly need more training. And yes, everyone is “short staffed” but not here. I saw they had plenty of help! Tons of people behind the counter and in the back. They need to work to train their employees. Orders are wrong left and right and a bagel sandwich taking almost 40 mins. is a bit excessive. Happy a small business is thriving but c’mon. They need to slow down and make sure their orders...
