I've read some of the reviews and am a bit shocked. This place looks great and the staff are really nice, HOWEVER, my Fiance and I went in last night and ordered the Chicken dinner and the Chicken Pesto Pasta. I have to tell you, we go out to eat a lot and know of tons of great restaurants with awesome food, but this place was awful and VERY over-priced. First off, my Fiance said the chicken tasted like it was warmed up and not fresh. It was served almost warm. The Chicken Pesto pasta was not that good either. It was barely warm and didn't taste good at the start. As soon as we were half way through, our stomachs started gurgling and all we could think of was getting home with a bathroom nearby. We thought we were going to die. It was awful and absolutely feel for $22 an entree it should have been a lot better and at least served with a roll!! It was definitely NOT worth the money. We're not sure if it was a bad night or what but our stomachs were still messed up this morning!! Because of the over priced meals and our experience, I would NOT recommend this place for dinner. With all that said, we do commend the manager for comping half our dinner but we won't be going back...
Read moreThis is the 3rd or 4th time visiting The Yard over the last 5 years. At this visit I was surprised that the quality of the food had declined to the point where I most likely won't go back for a while. We had a large party so we had many food choices and none of them really knocked it out of the park. The appetizers were really good, from the pretzel bites to the wings. Our servers were attentive, though I wish they had brought pitchers of water out much sooner.
As for Entrees and Pizza. The fish and chips were bland, the Hawaii Pizza was either soggy for one, or super salty for the other, and the fried chicken has almost a sweet allspice tang to it and the chicken was dry. The steak was good.
Most of the times I ate here before I thought the name "Culinary Dropout" was fitting as whoever dropped out had a gift they needed to share with the world sooner rather than later. This time however I feel like the name implied someone who should have finished their Culinary degree. I recognize that there are a lot of supply chain issues and inflation had not been kind to the food industry which is why I gave a 4 star...
Read moreA group of us met to see some old friends in town for the night. Overall this is such a fun place. There were 2 disappointing things though. My wife and I ordered the fried chicken, and the fish and chips dinners to split. The fish was really good. The chicken leg and wing were cooked nicely and a delicious breading/batter. But the breast was so over cooked from being taken out of the frier and cut in half to see if it was done that it wasn't edible. I know it can't be under done, but another person in our party said they've had the same thing happen to them. For a $20 plate that's a pattern you can't have. The chairs for the high top tables are very uncomfortable. At least 3, if not 4, of the 7 of us stood because they were that uncomfortable. We tried to be moved but it was a Friday night so nothing was available. I had a great Toppling Goliath IPA. The brown bag $2.50 mystery cans were nice. I haven't paid $2 50 for a beer since college. Definitely go for the games and drinks. For food just go with something besides the chicken and you will have...
