I called to get a Lyft passenger from out of town to this shady place for some food and the lady that answered was so rude the passenger told me to hang up on her so I did. How dare you speak to your potential customers like that.
UPDATE: Im embarrassed for the out of control person posting the owner response below. I AM (or was) a customer just not at this central location BECAUSE BY YOUR OWN WORDS ITS CLOSED!! LAME. I tried to get a customer to you and even called to find out what is up with your dilapidated location and I get called a weirdo and you blame it on me??!! LMFAO. SMFH. HER REPLIES TO DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER REVIEWS are more like the rants of a SASSY child. This no-account treatment of your unhappy customers is what led to your mall location closing. (Read for yourself) Grow up and get some class and good business skills and practices. Be kinder to your customers and do a better job and you won’t have to close any more locations like your mall store. There are other WAY BETTER soul food places to eat at in Phoenix...
Read moreI'm torn between giving them a 2 or 3 stars, first customer service is not their strong suit at all. I walked up to the counter and she just smiled at me no hi, how are you nothing I said hi to her and she did speak back. They are located in a high traffic area of the mall and the young lady taking orders does not speak loud enough she needs to project her voice. The first time I went they had no cabbage, sweet potatoes and something else so I didn't get anything. I'm not sure how you are out of sides before 1 p.m. I went back a couple days later and ordered the turkey burger and it comes with waffle fries. The burger was cool and the fries were hot I would order it again. But again the customer service is bad. I'm not sure if she is the owner but she doesn't great people either she was being nice to one lady but you could tell they knew each other. Then a young man comes from the back to take orders and he was just like the young lady just standing there. He took so long a customer waiting...

The music, OMG!😲 Derogatory and very loud. A poor representation of such a nice place!
As for the food, the catfish was seasoned to perfection but could be fried just a bit longer. Unfortunately, the cornbread muffin was nearly burned. The Dirty rice was dry and cold.
Staff lagged and chatted as if there weren't any customers waiting on orders. Young lady at front desk proceeds to put on gloves, then, reached into her pocket and checked her cell phone while preparing to-go plates, cross contaminating from her phone directly to a cornbread muffin. Also, Cross contamination with serving utensils gathered and used from a single container instead of being placed within each specific side item. What if a customer's allergic to a particular side dish?
It's a nice establishment. The setup is inviting and I personally love the green grass wall. There is definitely some work needed in both professionalism and safer...
