Came with a group of 4 girls, and it was all our first times with Liberian cuisine. The workers were welcoming, friendly, and patient with us as we asked questions about what dishes were before we ordered. It was obviously our first times! The music was fun and lively. Lots of people ordering take out coming and going.

Our group got fufu with pepper soup (fish, shrimp, turkey, chicken and beef), palavar sauce (turkey, chicken and beef), fried plantains, and jollaf rice. I've had Ghanian jollaf rice before and, from my memory, it's similar but ALC's was even more flavorful and filling with veggies and shrimp and wings! Jollaf rice was my favorite over all. Pepper soup's fish was our highlight (there's bones which many people aren't accustomed to so watch out!), and the palavar sauce was rich and flavorful. Flavorful is the best word I can use because I can't compare these foods! Fried plantain was sweet and crispy with this spicy sauce and chopped fresh veggies salad. My friend who doesn't like plantains enjoyed theirs!

Because they have to pound the fufu (which is a good sign that it's freeesh), our order took maybe 15-20 minutes, and the young lady who took our order kept us informed about our wait time. I was with a good group of ladies so we were fine waiting, but just a heads up for anyone who isn't leisurely eating.

If you're interested to trying Liberian cuisine, I recommend coming here for a great first experience like I had with friends or getting take out! If you're experienced with Liberian cuisine, come try it and let them know...

First time ever eating African food* So initially I went in for their chicken and beef soup that’s on yelp/google. They said “it ran out” it’s understandable so I asked for their next popular dish it was a fish shrimp soup with fufu. It was seasoned really really really good! I enjoyed the flavor a lot! However, I’m Latino and this was very reminiscent to camarón al diablo which is spicier than this but it’s spicy enough not to be enjoyable. (Not too much of a fan of spicy foods) fish had so much bones in it, I ended up just putting aside and not eating it. the shrimp still had the shell on it so there’s that. Not to say it wasn’t good but for the price I paid I felt like I didn’t get my moneys worth, also I know I wouldn’t get that ever again. They have friendly staff but the language barrier is hard to communicate. The only thing that bothered me most and I almost walked out is they had ROACHES in the dining area. You’re probably thinking like hell nah I’m walking out but there’s a lot of these big corporations that still have it and you still eat at lol I really wanted to give it a chance. I was gonna a photo but I just didn’t want to be extremely “karenly” and as soon as I walked in I got the hint of RAID the roach spray even the guy after me said it smelled like it. Just putting it all out there so you know. I wouldn’t wouldn’t go back mostly cause the price $30 a bowl and fufu that I didn’t...

I don’t know what’s going on with this place but the food is very tasteless as another librarian of order three times from this place and the food is so tasteless and oily. I don’t understand how they cook all the soup and it doesn’t have crab or smoked fish and it like we’re Liberian it’s supposed to have crab shrimp in it. The cassava is super muddy and it’s not dry like you are so oily and like just really tasteless the meat just only had chicken in there and beef. There’s no turkey there is no smoked fish. There is no crab. It was just so tasteless and then didn’t even The red oil it had white oil. Why does the cassava have white oil in it white same thing with the other soups, they don’t have the right oil in it or no seasoning. All your taste is oil. The rice was muddy. It was like old and I know it was the brown rice and it was watery. The rice was muddy and water. it was just so tasteless. You can smell that it’s been left on the stove for like maybe a day or two just disgusting. I’m so disgusted. I’ll never order and I definitely made my TikTok calling it all like how customer service is really bad over there and the food is very tasteless. They need to work on that three times...

I used to love this place, ate there maybe 2 times a week. They sold to some new owners who raised the price significantly and give much less. I always got the cassava leaf with rice and paid $25 with tip. They gave you a ton of rice, and a big portion of meat and cassava leaf soup. And if you got the plantains they gave you a huge amount for 6-10 depending on the size. Now i get the rice same portion(when they first took over it was a small portion, im guessing people were complaining) and about half the amount of soup and meat, last 2 times i got 1 piece of beef which today was tiny, and some chicken(2 legs today), it said 22 or 23 on the menu, when paying it was 26, was 29 total. I can not recommend this place anymore. I use to bring friends here to try the food cause i liked it so much, and now i feel ripped off. I ordered a plantain appetizerast time i got 1 plantain for $10, before i bet i got 3 plantains for the same price and they were cubed and perfect. Thats the piece of beef i got this time, size of the spoon. I will be looking for a new african cuisine place to goto as i can not go back

As an asian person, and a first timer in this restaurant came with my husband, even though its 30 mins drive, it is definitely worth it. I definitely recommend the spinach dish they had, the plam butter, the okra sauce and the fried talapia fish. The staff are nice, you can interact in the kitchen. Rich flavor, more spices and mixed meats in their food. On the photos: Left: Okra sauce Right : cassava leaf Update: I recommend the Palava sauce and Fufu with Pepper soup. We been going here for couple of weeks now, to try all dish on their menu. Not disappointing at all.
