Things don’t always go well and that’s okay — no one is perfect. It was a very busy time (Cinco de Mayo) and one must have patience at such a time…of all days!! However, we can judge the character of an establishment by how things are handled when they don’t go well, and that’s where there was a massive failure. Altogether, it means that I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone, despite the fact that we have really liked their food in the past.
So what happened? We waited over two and half hours for our takeout meal and the staff refused to take us seriously with our pleas to verify our order which would have resolved the issue hours sooner.
Though I remained patient and kind throughout, the person working the front desk refused to verify that our order was still in the system despite my repeated pleas. I was given a blanket statement that takeout orders were coming. It was busy, so I decided to trust them, especially after one man got his order after 90 minutes of waiting. I figured maybe ours was still coming after all.
Finally, after 2 hours, someone took me seriously and realized that they had given our food to someone else over an hour earlier. We were then told the manager was rushing our order and it would be just five minutes. Annoyed but understanding given the circumstances and because I didn’t want to let this ruin our night by getting mad or something, I said we would wait 5 more minutes. After waiting all that time, what was 5 more? Had it been resolved accordingly, I would not be leaving this review.
15 minutes later, after finding someone to speak with, I was told that our order was being packed up. 10 minutes after that, after finding the person again, I was told the order was messed up and wouldn’t be coming at all.
It was what happened in those final 30 minutes that really bothered me. Despite the two hours before, it was a busy day/time so I was understanding. “It is what it is”, as they say. However, not then taking care to ensure that we did get our meal after all of that is the real failure.
Despite patience and understanding on our part throughout, we were ultimately disrespected and, it became apparent, deceived. Upon realizing this, the staff offered only an apology and that a refund would come in a few days time.
So, if you must have food from this particular restaurant, my suggestion is to order only at slow times of the day and be very,...
Read moreFood at most El Limon's is good but this location's management appears to be extremely unprofessional. I called 3 times to place an order, with no one picking up, and finally left a voicemail with my order and requested a callback to confirm. I arrived at the location to find it was closed. There was no indication that they were closed online or when I left a voicemail and they didn't even bother to update the hours on the sign out front. There was someone inside and when i knocked to confirm they were closed (because I was in disbelief at the lack of indication of a change in hours), I was given a rather rude response. And this individual apparently did not consider answering the phone when it rang multiple times. I was in a rush and I am incredibly disappointed by this experience and I do not think I'll be visiting this...
Read moreMust Dine Here! Our first time here, and thrilled to find authentic Mexican cuisine. Great menu options! I ordered Tilapia fajitas, the fish is so tasty and the veggies cooked just right. I am not a spicy food person and this tastes amazing! The guacamole and fresh chips were also perfect. Portion size is perfect. Hubby had the steak enchiladas.his meal also prepared to perfection! Just a bit of a wait as they are not fully staffed yet, management took $ off our order for the wait, but we honestly would have been happy to pay full price. Menu prices very reasonable. Received a free margarita for dine in. We will definitely be Regular customers! Much more on the...
