If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. Soko Bag is incredible! From the moment we walked in, we knew this place was something special. The chicken sandwich and the Seoul Train were pure perfection—crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. And don’t even get me started on the Ghost Cheddar BBQ—it was out of this world! Whatever you do, never change that recipe.

The beer selection? Spot on. Perfectly curated to pair with the bold, exciting flavors of the food. I actually own my own beer rating blog, and I was having an absolute blast exploring the beer menu here. Every option was on point and made the meal even better—it’s clear they’ve put a lot of thought into it.

One of the best parts? We don’t even have to go into Downtown Phoenixville for this gem. Let’s be honest, Downtown Phoenixville’s parking situation is a nightmare, and the food and atmosphere there are often underwhelming considering how hard it is to get in. But Soko Bag is on the outskirts, with unlimited street parking just steps away. I’ve heard some people are annoyed about the parking abundance (how is that even a complaint?), but for us, it’s a game-changer. No stress, no hassle—just amazing food.

As an LA foodie who recently moved back to PA, I can confidently say this place scratches that LA Counter-esque itch for bold, inventive flavors and unforgettable food. Soko Bag brings that next-level quality I’ve been craving since I left the West Coast.

To top it all off, Shea, the owner, is an absolute riot. Hilarious, full of personality, and the kind of character every great spot needs. You can feel the love and care poured into this place, and it shows.

We’ve been debating moving away from Phoenixville, but Soko Bag just added a big reason to stay to our list. I hope this place stays put. If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor and go ASAP. You...

My Husband had been wanting to try this place for quite some time and after quite of few attempts they finally opened. I tried calling on Valentine’s Day because my Husband said he had read some reviews and they mentioned a couple of his faves but they weren’t anywhere on on the menu. I was disappointed to learn after calling and getting no one on the phone that I had to drive there all the way from Birdsboro to make this happen for him on Valentine’s Day. Because they “didn’t take any orders over the phone” I made the drive later that night and asked about the things my Husband had mentioned from the reviews and comets to find out they weren’t even reviews for Soko Bag. I was disappointed to learn that I wasn’t going to be able to get him those things so I gave my order which included 2 of the 4 sauces they offered. The gentleman who was taking my order told me to do the “Seoul Train, it comes with all four sauces..and it’s cheaper!!” He said. That’s great I thought. I waited at the bar while the food was being prepared and the place was nice, I especially loved their sign on the wall that read: “You can’t buy happiness, but marrying a Korean is basically the same thing” it didn’t take long at all and another gentleman came out with my order in his hand and thanked me for being so patient..it was a nice touch! I made my trek back to Berks County and gave my Husband the order . I wasn’t in the garage but a minute when I heard “I thought you said you got four sauces?????” Maybe we shouldn’t have opened our doors yet if people can’t place orders over the phone or on a website and when they do drive all the way there and you talk them into a meal but you don’t even include what you sold them on! Super disappointed and the food wasn’t even that great, just so-so 2 stars for sure , and most likely...

My husband and I found this place while on a road trip. We can tell that they put a lot of love into this place.

The staff were personable and amazing! When they found out we were from Virginia, they went out of their way to give us freebies (the bulgogi cheese steak egg rolls, cake, and all the sauces). Furthermore, we were able to chat about how some of their menu items were made. We're glad that they partner with other local places to provide the best quality ingredients they can.

The food was stellar! They didn't skimp out on flavor and spices- there's a dip for (mostly) everyone here, from their sweet gochujang bbq to the refreshing cucumber wasabi (husband's favorite). They also had their own house blend (my favorite).

It was also an amazing surprise to see that the chicken pieces were deboned!!!! I would keep this in mind when ordering, since they price their chicken sets by 1/2 lb and 1 lb.

We also ordered their "KPop" drink- a blueberry kombucha. My husband got his with vodka and I had mine as is. It was tart, not too sweet, and very refreshing. Next time, we would love to try their on tap beers.

Lastly, the atmosphere worked well with the Korean chicken- a laid back sports bar. (Mind you, we stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, so your experience may be different if a game was actively playing). There were plenty of seating options, from bar to tables. We saw groups of friends, individual diners, and families all eating here, making for a warm and inviting place to be.

We'll definitely be stopping by next time we're in the area! Much love from...

Perfect little mom & pop style shop vibe with a tidy twist. Atmosphere is akin to a hole-in-the-wall vibe without the back alley undertone. Bright and full of laid back energy, you can get some double fried crispy chicken with the most supreme home made sauces. Crispy homemade breaded chicken texture is the seller here. The house sauce are all phenomenal in their own way; you can't go wrong. Korean drink offerings, small, but varied selection (alcoholic). They also do trading cards; especially sports, but a bit of Pokémon. First come, first serve applies to the snack items here; daily stock is limited to prevent food waste. A+ for sustainability effort. Beer selection is wide enough to accommodate but selection is consolidated in a smart way. Menu combos are thoughtful and affordable without shorting the customer. Cosy bar seating (6-8 seats ish) and small/average dining room (5-7ish tables), but they are just the means to a delicious end. Allergy menu is fairly inclusive, and staff is happy to double check and accommodate. Side note is the sports/card collection paraphernalia. Staff is knowledgeable and each has their own specialty interest. Shout out to Shea(Shay?) for the insta recommendation and the complimentary draft (since I have a dairy allergy)! Only objective downside is maybe the parking. The building sits at an intersection in an awkward corner lot with maybe 5 spots, but if you can cross a street at a crosswalk, you'll be fine. You'll also be fine if you're a patient driver. Happy snacking and enjoy!

This place finally opened with a limited menu. It's pretty amazing to be honest with you. I wish I could rate more than 5 stars. Owner Shay is excited and inspired, I can't wait to come back. Never had Korean fried chicken, very happy this place is so close. 3rd or 4th time I've been back update: Very popular spot, space inside to sit at the bar or at a table. Still offering only snow chicken (think white cheddar popcorn covering on chicken) and bamboo salt chicken (same crispy, boneless, battered chicken chunks as snow but with just salt). The sauces are a must try spicy bbq called gochujang and a kimchi aioli which some may find fishy or slightly fermented. I recommend at least trying snow chicken and the kimchi aioli and must try bamboo salt and gochujang. House branded 4 pack cans to go for $16, and a crumb cake. I've only gotten to go and had beer at the bar but the service is 10/10. Order at the register, grab a beer and take a seat, worth the wait, good atmosphere inside for a small group although I did see a group of 17 be seated on my 3rd visit. Owner shay is personable and takes time to explain to all the new customers the options. Now you know the scoop and can order like a pro. This place will be busy and around for a long time. Go now before the wait is an hour or more! I think online ordering is a thing now too. One smaller obstacle is the parking, park on main or nearby the lot is tricky.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A World-Class Food Experience in the Heart of Phoenixville I’ve lived in three countries, five U.S. states, and traveled extensively across the globe—over ten countries and nearly every state in the U.S.—and I can confidently say that Soko Bag Korean Fried Chicken ranks in the top five food experiences of my life. Yes, it’s that good. From the first bite, it was clear this wasn’t just great fried chicken—it was a masterpiece of flavor, texture, and culinary craft. The chicken is impossibly crisp on the outside while remaining juicy and tender on the inside, with sauces and seasonings that are bold, addictive, and perfectly balanced. Every dish I tried was prepared with precision and care, bringing together the best of Korean flavors in a way that feels both authentic and innovative. But it’s not just the food—it’s the atmosphere, the energy, the sense that this place is special. Soko Bag isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a reason Phoenixville continues to earn its spot as one of the best small towns in America to live in. It’s a culinary anchor, the kind of place that makes locals proud and visitors return. Whether you’re a seasoned foodie or just someone who appreciates great cooking, you owe it to yourself to experience Soko Bag. It’s not just one of the best meals you’ll have in Phoenixville—it’s one of the best you’ll have anywhere.
