Las Chinampas — Restaurant in Pico Rivera

I had high hopes for this place, especially after hearing so many positive reviews, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The customer service was excellent — the staff were attentive, friendly, and accommodating. I especially appreciated that my coffee was consistently refilled, which is a small but important touch.

However, the food was a letdown. Despite the restaurant’s reputation, everything I tried was bland and lacked flavor. It was frustrating, as I had been excited to try this location for a while, only to leave feeling underwhelmed by the meal.

It’s a small place, and they clearly work hard to make their guests comfortable, but for a restaurant, the food is the main attraction — and unfortunately, it just didn’t deliver. I’m honestly not sure how it has received such glowing reviews, given my experience.

Hopefully, they can address this issue, because their service is top-notch, but the food left a lot...

Great place to find good Mexican food, most of the staff are very attentive and the aguas are the best. The restaurant has a large seatinng space which continues to a bigger space in front of the cooking place, next to it, sided to the cashier and even a seating place on the outside. They're serving are usually popular mexican foods such as pambazos, tacos de carne y tacos de camaron. They food usually comes with all of the typical ingredients and it serves a variety of sauces in cute little holders. It's also fast service and I would recommend it both as food to go and stay, overall the service is quick...

The food here is not very good. It is okay.... on average depending on what you get. Price for food is a bit on the high end as well and they add an additional charge 3.99% ( shy of the 4% cap) when you use a credit card or debit card. The last time I went I placed an order for 2 orders of menudo and 1 Gordita. The total came up to over $42.00. One order of menudo is $15.50 and it had a sweet taste (very odd). The Gordita was made with old masa and the meat was tough and had an odd after taste. I'm not coming back. There's lots of better choices around this area. This place is not one of them....
