So I just went into this location this past week. I've been here in the past and the food has always been great. I heard they expanded their veggie menu so I decided to go in with my mom and niece as they are vegetarian. To my surprise 2 veggie and 1 reg combo came out to 45 dollars. The cashier tells me after she serves me and bags everything that the veggie meals are extra. So I politely asked where is that posted, to which she points at a small 8X10 paper on the wall to the right of the register which is almost impossible to read as shecherself could not make out the menu STRIKE 1. After I asked for bottled water which I was surprised when they said they were out FOUL TIP. I asked why they had no indoor seating to which I was told that they were following the NO INDOOR DINING MANDATE. When I stated that there was no such mandate and that they were doing a disservice to their customers by not allowing them to sit and eat they just ignored me STRIKE 2. So we finally wound up at a nearby park and ate. Moment of truth, 🥁🥁🥁drum roll...The food was fantastic. I had the Orange Chicken 9/10, Teriyaki Chix 8/10 (only because they forgot the sauce) rice noodles/chow mein 10/10. Even my mom and nieces combos were on point (of which I managed a Taste).😋😋😋 HOMERUN In my experience customer service here has always been sus to say the least but I give credit where credit is do, the food always delivers and is on point. Can't have it all I guess. Sucks that customer service is often sacrificed nowadays especially when so many businesses are shutting down. You would think Customer service would be priority...
Read moreCame by today because my sister is vegetarian, and I was happy to show her the vegan combos here. Well, the new vegan combos are a mess. $18 for a "double serving" of a single item combo, no choice for two entrees. The strangest part is that they refuse to sell side orders of the vegan entrees, though. We were prepared to be overcharged for a side of vegan broccoli beef because everything here is expensive (like $10 for a little tiny side box), but they just straight up refused to sell it to us. Apparently, the ONLY way they're allowed to serve you their vegan dishes is if you pay an additional $18 for another full plate. Just ridiculous. Even their non-vegan food is WAY overpriced. You can way get better food at China Wok Express on the corner of La Mirada and Mulberry, and it comes out to about $13 after tax for a three item combo, not $18-$20.
This place always used to have a crowd inside, and it was empty today when we arrived, probably because of these changes to their menu. I wonder if it was really worth it to try and be greedy, because it seems like they're just driving away the people who did eat here regularly. We turned around and went somewhere else to eat, because on top of being expensive, the menu honestly feels hostile, like it's been designed by people who hate you and want you rip you off. They must think their customers are stupid, or that they'll put up with anything. Well it seems like they're finding out otherwise. Enjoy the...
Read moreStrange how my review of this "restaurant" went missing! I am reposting! This place used to be amazing and cheap! I miss the old pre-pandemic days where you could get amazing authentic tasting food, with generous portions, and killer prices! I was able to feed a family of 4 easily for $30. Now, the same food costs $75, with smaller portions and tastes awful! The chow mein is spaghetti noodles, and the meats taste like they've been left out overnight to dry, and then had water added to them the next day and microwaved, but are still dry anyway. This place is an overpriced shell of what they used to be. Not to mention, they add on extra charges for everything--despite raising prices 100%-- they charge an extra dollar for combos with certain meats. And then they have the nerve to charge an extra $1 for a small container of teriyaki sauce--literally the only thing that can make the dried, flavorless meat edible. Not to mention, they got my initial order wrong and tried to charge $90 for four plates. If I hadn't caught it, they would have been fine with charging this obscene price! I have read other reviews where over-charging has occurred. How often are they doing this to unsuspecting customers? 100% will never come back again to this low quality, overpriced...
