On 3/5/22 we decided to utilize our gift card and dine here for date night. The parking lot was nearly full, but we were able to find a spot not too far from the entrance. We walked to entrance and was immediately greeted, and the gentleman held the open for us. The foyer is not that big, but it seems guests like to crowd around, making it hard to either enter or leave. But, after having to excuse ourselves more than once, we were able to enter and check in at the host/hostess stand. Hubby made the reservation for 8:15p, and we arrived about close to 8 pm to check in. We were advised that it would be a minute while they prepared our table. We stepped to the side and waited. We did take note of the Easter brunch being advertised on the screen, as well as other events. Eventually, we were called and escorted to our table, which was not ready in any way. The table was not even cleared. The hostess then sat us in the same area, but she did ask if we wanted to wait in the foyer while they fixed the area. We decided to sit and wait for the servers to prep the table. A server came with the plates and glasses and began to set the table, and as he set up the glasses and plates, I had to draw their attention that both the plates were unclean. So, the server took the dirty dishes away. I noticed a man in a suit who appeared to be clearing off our original table. I asked if he was the manager, and I asked him if he could take the wine glass as well since it had a small piece of food particle on it to be replaced. He asked us if I wanted wine. We advised that we were justed seated and have not received the menus yet. We were then greeted by our server, Solomon. Once we got the menus, we did order wine. A moment later, they served us with bread and butter. We then settled to try the crispy shrimp but with the sauce on the side. Once we got our appetizer, the sauce was served on the shrimp, and then the shrimp was taken back and served with the sauce on the side. We then placed our order. For our starter, we both had the Louisiana Gumbo. We decided on the 6 oz. Filet select. I had the mashed potatoes with the brussel sprouts while hubby had the same petite Filet but with the grilled shrimp and creamed spinach. Hubby ordered a wine flight, which was not bad but was on the tart side for me. The flavors were spot on, and everything was amazing in spite of the minor hiccups. Solomon checked on us periodically and then helped us select our dessert. Of course, I ordered my favorite dessert, creme brulee, and hubby choose the mini cheesecake. We totally appreciate Solomon's hospitality and great service in spite of the earlier mishaps and other unmentioned details during our dining experience. We are a fan of this establishment, but I had to take off one star due to the unclean dining setting. Overall, the meal and experience was nice . And of all places, I bumped into my niece and her boyfriend, who were also dining there. ****************************************** Food and service was on point. The ambiance was very soothing. Calamari was delicious. We had the Summer special. Our salads came out in a timely manner, as well our meal. The banana cream pie was tasty, but did not care for the crust. The manager came and visited our table, which was a nice incentive. We will definitely be back. Thank you Kamal for making our night flow.

EDIT: So we went back to Ruth's Chris to celebrate my son's grades again. And I can tell you, my family and I absolutely love the food. Similar to last time, my son got his usual of Filet Mignon and Lobster Tails, my Wife the crab cakes, and I also got the Filet. It was excellent. As for dessert, my son his usual of the Crème Brulé, same for the wife, and I had the cinnamon raisin bread pudding. Fantastic all around!!!! Also, the entire dinner, my son was congratulated for his grades by the staff and they even wrote "keep up the hard work" on his dessert. For those concerned about service, do not be deterred. They have excellent service, but I recommend going early. Our reservations were at 5:30 and we didn't finish until almost 7:30. If you are expecting to be done in an hour, go to some other place. This is a classic dining experience and is meant to be a couple of hours. Also, the later you wait, the more busy they are and as you could expect, service will slow. But it is an excellent restaurant worth the time and money. Make sure you check out the pictures. ORIGINAL: What can I say, it's Ruth's Chris! We went there to celebrate my son getting straight A's and going into high School. It's one of his favorite restaurants. Now we have never been to this one in Pikesville Maryland, but we have been to other Ruth's Chris. As expected, it is very nice, clean restaurant. I had the bone-in filet, my son had a filet and lobster tails, and my wife had the Maryland style crab cakes. The food was absolutely delicious. So you might be wondering why only four out of 5 stars, I will tell you. Dessert was fantastic. My son had creme brulee and we ordered the bananas Foster. According to the menu it was supposed to be prepared tableside as you would expect if you've ever had bananas Foster. This unfortunately was not the case. It took an abnormally long time for the dessert to be prepared and it was brought to us well after my son had received his creme brulee. It is unfortunate because we would have ordered a different dessert if we had been told that it was not per the menu and would not be prepared tableside. Having bananas Foster prepared in front of you is an excellent experience. They flambe the bananas and make a big spectacle. But do not let this deter you from going to this restaurant. While expensive, Ruth's Chris is by far one of the best high-end steak chains there is. At the end of the night we left with full bellies and excellent memories of celebrating my son's grades and transition into high School.

This is the first time that I am writing a restaurant review. I am usually very accommodative and willing to compromise to enjoy a dinner experience. The experience I had at Ruth Chris’s Steak this valentine was the worst I have ever had. we made a Valentine dinner reservation for 7:30pm. We were ushered to a Banquet room which was decorated nicely with colorful curtains, candles and had beautiful chandeliers. Whereas the mood was set right, we had a horrible service which completely spoiled our day. We were served soup/salad as a starter. We finished the starter, but the empty plates remained on the table for a long time. We had ordered two Cowboy Rib-eyes these took a long time to come but we figured it was because it was valentine’s day and they had many orders in the kitchen. Finally, our food was brought, and it was the wrong order. They brought us two steaks which were completely not Cowboy Rib-eyes. We informed our waiter that, that was not the order we put in, we explained to him that Cowboy Rib-eyes are different from Bone-In-Filet which he had brought. He was not apologetic at all, he grabbed the plate from the table and even spilled the meat sauce on the white table cloth, almost spilling it on me. He then told us 'It will take a while" and left. We got this impression that we should have had the Bone-In-Filet since it is all Steak. We had ordered a bottle of wine that we almost finished on an empty stomach. After a very long wait, the Cowboy Rib-eyes were brought. We were hungry for such a long time that finally when the food came, we had lost appetite.  The Steak needed more salt, but we did not have salt on our table. We called the waiter and he brought us salt and pepper from another table. Throughout our meal no one checked on us and when we called the waiter for the check, he did not even mention anything about dessert. The bill was $245, and we left a tip of $25 though it was undeserving. The service we received was not even worth half this cost. Due to the long wait to have dinner we ended up missing our movie.  It was a terrible dinner experience. It did not feel like a Ruth Chris’s Steak experience at all! Such a pricey restaurant should offer better service and need to train their waiters.

Such a fantastic experience! We threw my mothers 80th birthday party at this location, and let me tell you, these folks go above and beyond. This team was absolutely fantastic!

James, the general manager, has to be the kindest, and most accommodating person in the world. He goes above and beyond to please his customers and do his job with passion. He makes himself extremely accessible, even when he is off. We were organizing my mother’s birthday only a day before, as I’d been out of the country. We could not have done this without James almost literally taking us by the hand and making us feel a huge sense of ease due to his guidance, and constant accessible help. He gave us his cell phone number, email, and even when he was off , on the actual day of our event, he made himself completely contactable.

During the actual event we were working with Jimmy, the assistant general manager. He was like a magic genie lol…literally. Every request I had, he snapped his fingers and made it happen. Another person who goes waaay above and beyond. We literally had a better time than I even expected we would because of Jimmy. He was 2 steps ahead of all of our needs. This guy is literally magical!

Our designated servers, Whitney, and Cameron were soooo nice, so attentive, and so efficient. I know their job wasn’t easy as we were hosting a party of about 20 people. But these two servers made it look super easy and breezy. The patience of Whitney, Cameron, Jimmy, and James is through the roof, simply incredible! I’m almost in tears thinking of how perfect they made our special day, not just serving us with so much love and attention, but taking pictures, checking in…I mean wow…I could just go on and on.

We had to secure some details of our event with the event coordinator Allison, quite honestly, I didn’t feel the same level of customer service and patience from her. She was not initially east to reach, as my mom had tried before I was in town. James finally had her call us. Working with her was the only slightly stressful part of the planning. But this wasn’t enough to put a dent in our experience ultimately.I had to bite my tongue a few times in order to not react to her delivery/demeanor, but we ended up working out our part of the details at least amicably.

In the end, I cannot boast enough about James, Jimmy, Whitney, and Cameron! These folks have no idea what a memory they helped us create. My mom’s 80th birthday is something we will never forget. We laughed, we cried, we danced, we ate amazing food, we toasted, we took pics, and we simply had a perfect, perfect time!!! Thank you so much Ruth Chris team! You are the absolute best! And we could not have done this...

Friends: please do yourself a favor and skip the Pikesville Ruth’s Chris . We were a party of five celebrating a birthday and I am honestly embarrassed I brought my family there. Worst service I have ever ever received, and it was not even busy. 1. They cannot cook a steak: I am serious. I ordered mine medium; it came out raw. Rare. Like blue rare. Asked them to please to cook to medium and it came out well done. Like a hockey puck. They did NOT offer to replace it; just said they’d take it off my bill. Ok. I don’t need to eat. They also acted like they were doing me a favor by taking it off the bill? I did not eat it, you did not cook it properly, why would I pay for it? I did not get to eat with my family. 2. We ordered 2 potatoes; only one came out, we asked the waitress repeatedly to please bring our second order. It never came. Eventually I told her to forget it; because we had finished eating. 3. Slowest service ever; random drinks delivered to the the table, and I got up to get our own sugar and ask for cream for the coffee., because they needed it and no one brought it to us. Can I emphasize the slow slow slow service and the waitress who could not have been less interested in our table? We had to flag her down constantly. 4. We waited almost 20 minutes for the bill after we asked. It came WITH THE STEAK I DIDN'T EAT AND THE DESSERT THEY SAID THEY'D TAKE OFF, still on the bill; after waiting that long!?!? I sent it back; waited 8 more minutes and it was wrong again. At this point I walked it up. What is happening?!? 5. no free dessert for the birthday celebrant?? Wow. Ok. We would have appreciated what every other Ruth’s Chris has done for us. But again; if you are committed to being the absolute worst experience; mission accomplished. 6. Added an auto gratuity for a party of five: sneaky and dishonest, seriously. Accustomed to 8 or more not five, how incredibly DISHONEST. As an aside we eat at Ruth’s Chris regularly and ate at the odenton location two weeks ago and it was superb in every sense of the word. I cannot believe I paid almost 600 dollars for this experience: we should have been celebrating my SILs birthday, instead we were all frustrated and upset. We have had better service at Outback and they knew how to cook a steak to medium. I am disgusted with the service and experience, and appalled at the massive waste of money. The management should be ashamed of themselves. Beautiful location however. A shame it is so poorly managed and they they do not value...
