Gotcha Smokehouse BBQ — Restaurant in Pine Castle

Good Barbeque restaurant in the Florida Mall. The Florida Mall has 6 anchor stores, 250 stores and over 1.7 million square feet of space. This makes it one of the largest malls in Florida. It is a very nice mall and seems in my opinion large, clean and upscale compared to most in the area. The Mall has an entire dining pavilion near the center of the stores on the north side of the structure. There are 25 restaurants around a central eating area. The restaurant at the mall entrance part of the dining pavilion is a Barbeque restaurant called Gotcha Smokehouse BBQ. It sports a small entrance with a counter facing the mall and a few seats to the right hand side as you enter the establishment. The staff was very friendly and offered samples as I entered. I sampled the chicken and the beef and decided to order the chicken with my two sides being rice and beans. The chicken and rice was very good. The beans and corn bread were not to my liking. The price was reasonable for the amount of food that I received. Overall, it was a good meal at a good price that I would recommend for people looking for good barbecue...

My experience is a bit difficult to describe. A nice lady in the food court entry walkway was offering a sample of their barbeque chicken, and it was actually truly delicious. I continued walking a bit into the main food court area, and realized most of the offerings were quite standard, so I turned around and decided to get more of what I'd really enjoyed as a sample. They had a 'One Protein With 2 Sides' offer on the menu, and that's what I chose. The person assisting me spoke very minimal English, but we got past that, and it does not factor into my rating. My order was Barbeque chicken with noodles and rice. I'm not sure why the chicken was VERY different in taste and texture from what I sampled, but that was certainly the case. The rice was a bit bland, but the noodles were tasty. I was hungry so I finished everything. Would i return? Oh, heck no. Love this place! For those unaware, it is quite common for mall eateries, especially Asian, to offer free samples. They are competing with eachother and want to interest you in their food. My gf and I went around and tried the other places offering a similar bourbon/bbq chicken and we decided this was our favorite, so we came back to order. I'm not sure why other reviews have problems with free samples or feel they received a different quality sample than what they were given, but this is the only place in the food court that chops the chicken to order and I saw them chop it for the sample tray.. everything came from the same area. I received what I ordered, was very happy with the quality and was charged the correct amount.
