Boteco Bossa Nova — Restaurant in Pinellas Park

I had high hopes for Boteco Bossa Nova and had been waiting for the right time to take my friends there, specially after all the good reviews and instagram videos I kept seeing. Sadly, it turned out to be a huge disappointment. We went on a Sunday and were shocked to find karaoke going on, not the fun kind, but full of drunk people/kids screaming into the mic. It was so loud we couldn’t even hear each other talk across the table.

When I asked about it, the owner told me it was her friends and she let them do it. That honestly made it worse. How can a business owner let a few friends completely ruin the experience for paying customers? Brazilian food and drinks are amazing, and this place could be great, but the atmosphere was terrible. While we were there, I saw multiple people walk in, take one look, and immediately walk out. Looking back, I wish we had done the same.

As a Brazilian, it’s rare to find places that “feel like home”. We decided to come in on Sunday at opening for Father’s Day. I had seen friends come for evening events, but wanted to try a daytime stop to enjoy with my kiddos, husband and mom. It did not disappoint.Food was delicious, beautifully seasoned. My mom and I got a. Brazilian signature of fresh pineapple juice with mint— HOLY COW! So refreshing. My husband didn’t pass up hai favorite Guarana.
