Review for Dunkin' Donuts on Pineville-Matthews Road I am absolutely appalled by the service my supervisor and I received at the Dunkin' Donuts on Pineville-Matthews Road. We visited to purchase donuts for a small party for autistic children at a preschool down the road. Both of us are employees of Atrium Health Hospital, and I serve as the facilitator and director of the special needs department. Additionally, I am a high-ranking member of the Atrium Board of Directors for the special needs department.
The experience we had was beyond unacceptable. When my coworker texted me to come inside, I was still in the vehicle and overheard the entire conversation. The employee used multiple racial slurs, threatened my supervisor by saying he would jump over the counter, and even stated that he would harm him after clocking out. This behavior is utterly reprehensible.
This situation should have never arisen. It should have never escalated to this level, but not being able to provide donuts or have cash on hand on the premises at 8 AM in the morning is not acceptable. It was a very big disappointment. I went next door to the competitor, Krispy Kreme, as your employees directed me to go there because they did not have enough money in the register to give me change. This was so I could purchase donuts for the autistic children who will be having a 360 PhotoBooth party. We have to be kind to people in this day and age. It’s a different generation, and people are more sensitive, but it’s unacceptable to call people racial slurs.
I just want to make it clear that I am a white Caucasian woman and my supervisor is an African-American and Hispanic male, part of the LGBTQ community and involved in many large corporations that service minorities and people with disabilities. This is not acceptable. As a Caucasian woman, I should not have to stand there and listen to another black gentleman tell my supervisor, another black gentleman, that they are the n-word.
This needs to be addressed immediately, and the employees involved should be terminated on the spot. Such actions, including the use of the N-word, are shocking and entirely unacceptable. It is particularly disturbing that these slurs came from an African-American male. As a black person in America, it is deeply troubling to hear such language from someone of the same race. This behavior creates an unwelcoming and unsafe environment for the minority community.
The entire incident lasted about 25 minutes. I entered the establishment after my manager instructed me to do so, needing a witness. I did not confront the employees to avoid revealing my association with my supervisor, but I stood there to observe the situation firsthand.
I also want to state that I own a 360 PhotoBooth company with locations in Miami and Las Vegas. I am hosting a grand opening next week in uptown Charlotte, as well as in Houston, Texas. Despite my private business commitments, I am dedicated to my role as the head specialist for the special needs department at Atrium Health Hospital down the road. However, the service we received at this Dunkin' Donuts was unacceptable on an entirely different level.
Shame on you, Mr. Jacob, if that’s even your real name. We will be back in the morning to speak to the establishment...
Read moreI had an awful experience today, with an employee who misunderstood and got our order wrong, before i went up there my husband said that she was irate so when i started walking up there i saw her body language and she was visibly and physically angry, before i could even talk mind you, she said “whats wrong with it now, what do you need now?” with the most horrible attitude & mean tone. and i told her that i was wondering if she could remake the coffee because i think she misheard or misunderstood the order, and started to try and talk and she immediately got angry and interrupted me mind you with an extremely rude tone and said “well i did it how he asked me to and i don’t know why i have to remake it again” like first of all i wasn’t being rude or disrespectful so after this i got upset because i was coming to her without any malice or ill will just asking if the coffee could be fixed, but when i realized that she doesn’t want to admit she is wrong and was being very rude and disrespectful, i told her, what’s her issue and why does she feel it is necessary to talk to me or treat me like that, or even say something like that, when someone says something is wrong you don’t approach them an unkind or mean demeanor or roll your eyes and huff and puff, and border line yell at them. so after i told her that i didn’t want it fixed by her she kept telling me there’s no way she can fix it so i told her i don’t want it anymore, the way she treats customers is horrible sadly i didn’t get her name to warn everyone about her, to mention my husband said that she didn’t want to complete taking his order because it was a "big" order. she from the jump treated us terribly, i stood up for myself in the end because as a paying customer that is trying to understand i dont think it warranted aggressive and unkind words and behavior. The manager he was a young black man and a young hispanic girl helped me after the altercation i got a refund and my coffee remade and it wasnt as difficult of an experience like the employee...
Read moreI honestly don’t know if I stepped into a coffee shop or accidentally entered a dimension where common sense is illegal. I placed an online order and ended up waiting at least 25 minutes for one drink. I walk in, and I don’t see anyone making drinks. No hustle. No urgency. Instead, the girl behind the counter decides it's the perfect time to dump her purse of coins onto the counter and start separating them by color. I’m not kidding. She sat there like she was panning for gold in 1849. Then the other employee comes over to HELP her. No, not help make drinks—help with the Great Coin Separation of 2025. While they play Coin Quest, no drinks are being made. After watching this unfold for way too long, I finally speak up. I tell the guy I’ve been waiting for a drink. He stares at me like I just invented the concept of coffee and says there's no brewed coffee left. Then, he tells me he has no idea how to make more? He said he'll just make me a latte. That's fine. But right then, a woman walks in with a dog. My drink is forgotten all over again. He abandons the latte-in-progress and comes out from behind the counter to play with the dog like it’s his childhood pet returning from the war. At this point, I’m literally begging this man to just make my drink so I can get out of there. He finally heads back behind the counter, but it's only to pick out a donut for the dog. Apparently, he and the girl didn't know if blueberries or chocolate were toxic for dogs, so they stood there googling this. Eventually, I got my drink, and I have avoided this place like the plague ever since. All while this was going down, two separate people who walked in after me, had to walk out as well with nothing since the employees couldn't make...
