No exaggerating - BEST fried chicken I've ever had around the world. Why? Daniel not only went to culinary school and makes his ingredients from scratch, he's studied the science behind the perfect fried chicken after spending years in bio tech to save up enough money to open Boba Birds. The end result: a better product, perfectly concocted and served. Paired with excellent drinks that aren't over sweet, and sauces that compliment every wing, you've got the perfect recipe for success.
This community needs better food, and Chef Daniel aims to deliver. It's also the first fried chicken I've ever had that doesn't taste greasy or oily. While he's keeping many of his trade secrets close hold, Daniel did let on that he's marinating his chicken before they ever make it to breading, and that there's a tapioca starch element to his secret batter that locks in moisture as the wings and flats hit the fryer. His fries are also perfectly cooked, rivaling Grégoire in Berkeley, with an even better seasoning; they retain a nice crunch on the outside and a soft hot inner, also without an unhealthy soggy oil vibe that most fries around town have.
Stop by and see why this new spot for chicken is one worth repeating on the regular... It kicks the pants off Wing Stop and Bonchon, too. Everything is made fresh to order, from scratch, so yes it may take a bit of time, but you'll find that everything here is...
Read moreItâs very rare I give a review because Iâm lazy and just donât care.
I walked in and ordered about an hour before closing. I waited about 20 minutes while the staff was having fun (good!) with each other. Then they told me they miscounted the wings and it would be longer to wait. I was the only customer, so I frankly got a bit frustrated.
They threw in some fries for the wait (very good), but still didnât win me. Then I got home and tried the wingsâŠ..my god. Possibly the best, juiciest, crispiest wings I have ever had! Theyâre huge to boot.
I got the traditional hot (exactly as youâd expect, perfect), honey sriracha (spicy, as they have labeled), and honey BBQ.
Perfect amount of sauce, and again, I canât get over how crispy and saucy they were after a 15 minute drive home and another 20 getting ready to eat.
Iâll give them a pass for the wait as my review reflects, currently theyâre at a 4.8 score and itâs deserved. Love seeing the younger staff having fun and goofing around while still taking care of business. I hope this place sticks around - the location is kind of isolated but if youâre considering it, itâs...
Read moreOk don't judge me but I kept seeing this place dropping in at the Her365Fitness gym next door and decided to drop in close to closing after a class. đ€Ł Because it was close to closing no waiting, took my order right away. Knew they cooked the wings to ordered so waited 10-15 min after ordering. I ordered the lemon pepper and garlic parmesean 10 pieces. My choice of dipping sauce was ranch, honey mustard and one other not to my interest maybe it was BBQ. I didn't hear blue cheese as an option which is my favorite for dipping my wing, no problem I'll use the Chick-fil-a sauce when I get home. There are few spot in my area, Wing Stop and Fire Wings, this place beats them all. I would have like them cooked a little longer, but I love chicken with good ratio of extra skin left on them to remind me why I loved pork skins back in the day when I wasn't on my healthier choices kick. đ...
