Awesome, Awesome, Awesome... First time here and will not be the last, been looking for a really good Sushi place every since Kai Sushi in Centerville Ohio closed down, Kai was probably the best Sushi place around until now, so, been looking ever since trying different ones and none ever compared, they were good, but not the "oh wow" kind of places... Went to this Mikado place in Piqua after a family member told me about it and how good it was, I asked how does it compare to Kai? The answer was "better" or "really close to the same" so I decided to give it a try... Boy was I glad I did, finally found my Sushi place after months and months of trying different ones, it was almost identical to the one that I really loved, there are so many choices on the menu Sushi wise to choose from, you can even do Hibachi Grill here, they have appetizers to choose from also.... I finally found my Sushi place again and will be returning time after time to try other things on the menu until I've tried it all, great atmosphere, great friendly staff, really clean, nice decor, really cool lighting, but the best of all....AWESOME SUSHI and other great choices in food and drinks, you can't go wrong here if you're looking for a new sushi place or just want to try something new.... Highly recommend. I have a couple pics here, they are just the California Roll and the Ohio Roll, both are really great and such great flavor, put together beautifully, not too big and not too small of rolls, perfect size in my opinion. Will definitely return, Mikado, you've earned a customer for...
Read moreMy wife and I visited this restaurant that is hiding in plain sight. Let me first say that my wife and I do not eat Japanese food often. This makes our opinion on the cuisine very limited as to how it is 'supposed' to taste. We were quickly seated with no wait time. We were a little worried when our soup and salads arrived. They were 'okay'. Nothing to brag about. Based on this, I was worried that the prices we were paying for our entrees may be extremely bloated. Our appetizer arrived, which was delicious. When our entrees came to the table we were pleasantly surprised with the portions and elated with the flavors. I re-iterate that we do not know how these relate to Japanese cuisine due to our lack of experience. We, however, both loved our entrees and were satisfied with our portions. We will definitely be back. I want to try the sushi. It has been a long time since I have had sushi but I wanted to have something cooked at this location first. Now I know the quality of the meals we received, I feel more comfortable with trying their sushi. Great Meal, Great...
Read moreUpdate January 2025: The quality of the food and service here have declined significantly since COVID, while the prices are astronomical. We spent close to $70.00 on takeout for an anniversary lunch for two people. We got three spicy salmon rolls, two sunny flower rolls, a clear soup, a miso soup, and an order of beef fried rice. The fried rice is very different than it used to be. It now has a mayo-based sauce mixed into it and shredded napa cabbage that resembles lettuce, so it tastes like a very expensive big mac. We brought it back to the restaurant. After they argued that we were given what we ordered, the best they could offer was a gift card in the amount of the entree we didn't like because there are no refunds for online orders. We will be passing the gift card along to someone else, as we won't be returning.
Original review: The sunny flower roll and fried rice are always amazing here. Other favorites are the beef negimaki, shumai, gyoza, and any of their teriyaki or...
