This is a solid enough spot, but nothing extraordinary or even especially well executed.

It being cash only is a bit of a drag, as are the abundance of rickety chairs and tables. Of greater concern though are the acoustics: the space is small, packed with the aforementioned tables and chairs, and lacks proper consideration for the way sound bounces about. If it's busy or even remotely trafficked, be prepared to hear multiple conversations stacking upon either your own or the music pumping through your headphones. Should anyone order anything steamed, you're going to have a hard time concentrating on any other sound.

Overall I like this place and I come here fairly regularly, though it has its pros and cons. The staff tends to be excellent—friendly and skilled. The owner is a bit gruff. There's plenty of space inside, though I would say it's more functional than it is cozy. On the other hand, this location has a large and beautiful outdoor patio surrounded by greenery—a really lovely spot.

As for the food and drinks, they vary. I don't think the coffee/tea is quite at the same level as other cafes nearby, and the pastries that I've tried are also so-so. I've been to this local coffee shop a few times and usually stop in for a latte. On my most recent visit, the man making my coffee was absolutely delightful—friendly and professional. However, the rest of the experience was pretty disappointing. I needed help locating the bathroom, and when I asked a girl behind the counter, I was ignored and told to ask someone else. When I mentioned she wouldn’t help, I was essentially told off for not speaking loud enough and for “disrupting” her work.
