Eating good pasta is cheaper than therapy and never fails to make me feel better 🤭 Had dinner at Garbarinos in East Liberty last night for @Pittsburgh Restaurant Week . All i can say is I get the hype for this place. It was phenomenal. #pittsburgh #pittsburghpa #pittsburghfoodie #pittsburghrestaurants #thingstodoinpittsburgh #foodie #italianfood #pasta #CapCut

Garbarino's is a gem hidden in the center of East Liberty! First things first, make a reservation they have limited hours and seating. Second, plan ahead to find parking on the street. The food and atmosphere are wonderful. Garbarino's is relaxed and chic, serving refined rustic Italian with recipes that have been passed down through 4 generations. The dining experience had an immersive Italian feel with The Godfather: Part 2 playing silently on the tv above the bar and the music of Dean Martin and Johnny Mathis playing while we dined. The portions are huge! Believe me you will be bringing enough home for a second meal. The Italian Sangria was perfect. For appetizers we had the delicious greenz and beans and the meatballs in sauce tasted 💯 exactly like my Mom's!! We tried the Rigatoni Siciliano -which was spicy and saucy and the Rigatoni Ragu -which was rich and meaty. Both dishes were perfectly prepared. A cannoli and tiramisu were taken home to enjoy later -both were tasty. Garbarino's is a must try for Italian food. 🇮🇹

The restaurant is quite empty which surprises me considering how ridiculously good the food is! That is good because you get a seat and eat.... It's probably the best Italian American food in the area by quite a bit. They don't advertise themselves as authentic Italian, but a 4th generation Italian American restaurant instead. And it shows through the menu item style. They don't offer the 3-4 course menu that a real Italian restaurant does, but what they do serve are absolutely bomb pastas with extremely big serving sizes. They're so big each dish may actually serve 2 people. Most (if not all?) the pasta is also homemade. You can tell by the shape and texture of the pasta. My favorite is their gnocchetti, perfectly creamy (unhealthily amazing) with the perfect garlicky taste. Their food is also way better than the popular spots like Buca di Beppo and other places. Don't waste your time there. Come here for the outrageously large and amazing food here. Please support Garbarino's!!

EDIT: the owner saw my review and called to apologize on behalf of the service. This employee is not longer with their business as of this week. So sweet. It really shows how much they care about their business.

AMAZING FOOD

We came with a large party on Wednesday May 6th. All of us were first time guests. Unfortunately half of our group cancelled last minute. I know this is less than ideal, I can completely acknowledge that! But the server made it very evident that she was pissed, making multiple remarks to our party and also to the gentleman she was training. She rolled her eyes at us numerous times. She had an attitude the entire time. I was honestly disgusted. I understand that it’s a bummer our party was smaller but we are still paying costumer and still a large party. Also, we all got appetizers, drinks, food and dessert. She never checked on us after delivering our food. She was mad that we asked for to go boxes. At that time, I asked for a to go order and she rolled her eyes in my face. Then asked if we wanted dessert which we all said yes and she scoffed. Like excuse me? Gratuity was automatically 20% and us ordering more means your making more so what’s the problem? Honestly she’s lucky because with that attitude, she would not have gotten 20% from any of us. It was just so awful! Then she was mad when we asked to split the bill. I was a server for 7 years. It takes 5 seconds to split a bill. And she had one other table. She needs an attitude adjustment. Treatment like this would turn a lot of customers away!

The restaurant itself was soooo cute. Loved the atmosphere and decor. Food was absolutely amazing. The Brussels sprouts are top tier. The bread is so dense and delicious. Portions are huge. Everything tasted fresh and so delicious. We all enjoyed our food. Will definitely come back and hope for another server...

We went into this restaurant last night as we stumbled upon it by accident. All I can say is, I’m so elated we did! The service here was the most comforting, superior, and friendly service we have ever received. I walked in with my son, and we were made to feel completely at home. I felt like I had come here for years. We weren’t made to feel uncomfortable due to Covid, and that was extremely appreciated as I have experienced sever anxiety going in public at all. We had to order then immediately leave to go pick up my husband who had a work appointment in the area. The server did not act at all inconvenienced or like we were “ odd” and made us feel that we were dining in our own kitchen. Upon returning, the food came out immediately even though we called and placed an additional order. The food here is heavenly. The temperature, flavor, and presentation could only be described as perfect. We were checked on to ensure that we had everything we needed at a timing and amount that was just right. My son was commended for his food choice, ordering, and “ that he ate his vegetables”. His favorite dessert is a cannoli and we were given these as a complimentary item because he ate everything and it was our first time here. What the server had no way of knowing was that my son and our family had one of the worst days of our lives. This restaurant and more specifically the server put us at ease, made us smile, and put some light into a very dark day for my son. I will forever highly recommend this restaurant to anyone for every way a restaurant can get it perfectly...

I was there in October on A Saturday for my husband birthday waitress was amazing. Food wonderful i knew this was our newest favorite spot. We decided to celebrate our 25th Wedding anniversary here this Saturday. I reserved a BOOTH due to my back problems, Etc Online and specified that it was our 25th wedding anniversary. We get there the young woman. Sat us at a 2 seater table. I told her that I reserved a booth because of hip and back issues. She very dryly said that's only for 4 ppl I said I can't sit In These hard seats due to some health issues. The waitress comes I tell her same thing. Dryly and short said well that's the way they are doing it. And not very apologetic. I told her I was waiting for hubby to park to see if we would be staying. Told her that we would not stay as I couldn't tolerate the seats, and to place our food as to go. My 25th wedding anniversary dinner a bust. No management came out to us oh yeah and the 3 booths remained empty the entire 15, 20 minutes we were there. I have never made reservations and this happen, never. If a place couldn't accommodate they would contact us. I really like the food but I won't be coming back and I'm sad about that we spent well over a $100 on A Togo order, but thanks for the toddler size sliver of cheesecake for us to share for our troubles. I'm always a understanding person, big tipper and appreciative of the service I get. I'm Never rude and wasn't then. I cancelled a reservation to a upscale Italian restaurant to spend it...
