Now, the rating is only to represent management. My first time and experience there i called for pick up and when i picked up i made sure i was 10-15 mins late so i can make sure I was in and out. When i got there the pizza was not done. The MANAGER WAS RESPONSIBLE. I barely complained and made a fuss and was going to continue to wait and pay for the pizza. He announced, “ what, do you expect this pizza free?” In response I said “yes!” He asked me why. I said “ because why not or a discount at least.” He didn't say anything while making the pizza or even after. Which let me to believe that i was just going to get the pizza free or he was going to make up for his mistake. He goes on to try to give me cheesecake free that i didn't want. And make a fuss about brining up giving me the pizza free when those were the words that came out of his mouth. When i was clearly just waiting to pay. The pizza was marvelous, I cant even lie.
Moving forward i ordered again and this time it was burnt. The pizza smelled and taste like crispy ashes. I called and explained* living miles away from the place. the same manager said, “ okay, so what do you want me to do?” As a manager i expect a firm solution to satisfy the customer and not an argument about what should be done. OVERALL, the pizza is great but the management sucks👎🏽...
Read moreSo the wife and I saw on the local news that this place won “Worlds Best Pizza” out in Las Vegas. We live about an hour east of the closest location in East Liberty. We ordered a large pizza half cheese, half pepperoni. They told us ahead of time that it would be about 30 minutes. We didn’t mind the wait since it was going to be the “world’s best” and wanted it fresh. When the pizza came it did look amazing but also weird. It was more 2/3 cheese and 1/3 pepperoni. Picture a pizza and cut it in half. You would have two equal halves. Now move that line to the left or right a quarter of the way. So where all the points of the pizza meet was way off center, so the pepperoni slices were very small compared to the cheese slices. Very weird. My wife said “are they trying to save money on pepperoni?” As for the pizza itself, very average, very bland, the pepperoni is very thin and has zero flavor. It was good enough to eat but we won’t go back because we live so far away. If I worked near it , I would probably stop for a slice for lunch every once in awhile. But I can name ten places in the city that is...
Read moreVery average experience ordering from here. They are best known for their NY style, thin crust pizza. But, they also sell other things, like pepperoni rolls, calzones, and desserts such as cheesecake. The cheesecake is from Junior's in NY, I believe.
I ordered the classic, plain cheese calzone. It was decent, nothing special really. The size was fine but I've had better deals. I would have liked it to be baked a little longer for the crisp. Not too doughy though.
They use an adequate amount of cheese. It's mostly mozzarella, very little ricotta. The inside is a bit greasier than at most place. No sauce on the inside to keep it from being soggy. The little tomato sauce container served on the side was pretty tasty but cold.
All in all, solid option for a calzone but just not impressive in any way. I think their pizza might be better than the calzone. May come back to...
