So I’ve put off making this review but the more I think about it, the more I feel like what happened was blatant and on purpose. A couple weeks ago I was meeting up for a date, he was already there and waiting. There were people in all the seats but they were either eating or had ordered it seemed. When a white couple came in /after/ us they were immediately given menus and water. We had been sitting talking for at least 15/20 minutes at that point hoping it was just busy but when the hostess passed by us multiple times (still no water or menus), eventually serving the couple that came in after us -first- we both made a point to get up and go to the front to ask whether we could be served. The hostess literally avoided talked to us both and when a UberEats driver came in (Young Black woman like myself) she ignored her too! The only reason I think she even gave her any attention was because she realized she was a delivery person. We had been planning to eat here for awhile and were super bummed that we were treated this way. We ended up having to leave after waiting maybe 30 minutes in total to just be ACKNOWLEDGED! As great as we’ve heard the sushi is we’ve both opted in never trying again. Really...

It’s a small Sushi/Sashimi eatery rather than a full Japanese restaurant. It has all the attributes that could push them among the top.

The dining room is well lit very conducive to a joyous dining.

The Sushi/Sashimi menu is short and sweet. They do make good, clean traditional Sushi/Sashimi👌👌👌. The fish is fresh!!! The rice is well cooked, and judiciously apportioned for the sushi.

The Nigiri and Combos are very cost efficient👏👏👏. ThE BEST IS THE SASHIMI/SUSHI COMBO FOR 2.

Their big mistakes are:

  1. the rolls that are drowned (choked) in sauces. 👎👎👎. Sushi is about clean simple preparation. This practice is certainly NOT Japanese but an adulteration of an ancient cuisine that has become an art. If sauces are to be served, serve them on the side!!!

  2. Poke is NOT Japanese, it’s Hawaiian.

  3. Cheese is NOT an ingredient in real Japanese sushi NOR in any Japanese cooking. 👎👎👎. For me, cheese and raw fish is repulsive!

  4. In line with simplicity, the plastic decorations on the serving trays/plates has no purpose. It can be thrown away!!! IF IT IS NOT EDIBLE, DO NOT PUT THEM ON THE...

I was in town on business and wanted to treat myself to some sushi. I have a favorite place back home that has yet to be beat. I ordered delivery through Uber Eats to my hotel after driving all day. I ordered a spicy tuna roll, the Super Roll and fried oyster tempura. The taste was ok. Had to warm up the oysters, they had a musty taste. Never had oysters before so not sure what to compare them to. The spicy tuna had good spice. The flavor was just ok. The Super Roll also was ok also. I was a little disappointed there was no soy sauce included? All my favorite restaurants back home include at least packets or a small cup of it when carrying out. (Not sure if I had to pay extra for it and missed it on the menu?). That would have added some additional flavor. I had ordered 2 waters and a sprite and got 3 sprites instead. No big deal, being out of town & driving all day I didn't wanna have to go back out. I'll say it was ok overall. Sorry to say nor sure I'd order...

Enjoyed our dinner. It was very warm in the dining area but it was a warmer evening They had a bunch of orders for pick up and at one point most of the tables were full so there almost 10-15 people in this smaller establishment. Yet service was fair for for how busy they were. I think it was just the hostess and the guy. Sushi was tasty and the hand rolls were filled to the brim. The tempura was tasty and not soggy or greasy. We would definitely be back.
