I stop in here about once a week for coffee. The people who work here are nice. The parking has never been a problem. They do seem a little understaffed, as there is often a line of customers. If it isn't a line, at least one or two people are waiting while a disorganized troupe of workers hustle about behind the register doing other tasks while avoiding eye contact with the customers; not sure where the cashier is when this happens but it appears to be just a lack of enough "hands on deck." Sometimes it is just because some guy is ordering bagels for his whole office and that just takes time, but sometimes it just seems like there are not enough employees to help out.
Coffee is always good - piping hot every time! It is always full, too. Panera is very generous with their refill policy and it makes me feel at home and really welcomed as a guest.
Twice, there has been a vagabond sleeping in one of the booths. He did not have food or a drink, he just came in and laid down in a booth and napped. Once, I saw an employee try to get him to leave, but he ignored her and, short of manhandling him, she couldn't really do anything without making a scene. It isn't Panera's fault, as a corporation or as a single franchise, that derelicts come in and sleep in the booth or that a lone manager is left with the responsibility of dealing with this social issue and all its implications. Maybe they could invite a cop or two in from time to time to help with such encounters. Offer a "to go" serving of hot soup to the hobo and let the officer escort him out? I know, it isn't easy to deal with. And that guy was really only $2.02 away from being me, since, aside from having showered and buying that two-dollar cup of coffee, I was more or less loafing there all morning, too!
The slow, spotty wi-fi is the only thing I would raise as a complaint. It seems to last for a limited time and then the service starts to ignore your computer. I've heard other laptop campers complain about this, too, at this Panera location. When it is working, it is pretty slow. Wassup with that? I guess it's OK for homeless people to nap in the booth, but jobless yuppies can't hang out all morning and mooch the wi-fi! Class-ist! Just kidding. (but seriously, fix the wifi).
Also, does Panera have any...
Read moreIt started by us having to interrupt two employees chatting by the bakery section (only one in an actual Panera uniform shirt) and ask if we could place an order. After an eye roll, the one staff member decided to walk up to a register to take our order. He proceeded to enter it incorrectly resulting in my partner not getting her soup (hard to imagine since it was part of the pick 2 option).
After waiting for our number to be called, I asked about mayo for my sandwich. I was instructed to the drink and condiment station but informed them there was only mustard, brown mustard, and katsup available there. This new employee again rolled their eyes and turned around. I assumed he was going to get mayo, but instead simply walked into the kitchen area and did not return. I flagged down another employee who gladly gave me a packet of mayo which happened to be right in front of where the other employee was standing when they walked away.
As for the food itself, it was OK, but Tina quality equal to the price. Service along has convinced me to skip this location and go to the one in Bakery Square for future meet ups with business contacts or friends looking for a sit down place for...
Read moreIf I could give this Panera Bread zero stars I would. I get the same order at every Panera bread and for some reason this one just didn't have ANYTHING on their hot menu. I ordered a whole sandwich cut in two, one half had 4 slices of meat folded and the other half had 2 slices, suffice it to say it was unappetizing and irritating sandwich. I ordered a large Mac n Cheese and I got undercooked pasta in a cheese soup. It was supposed to come with a baguette and instead it came with a hard as rock piece of bread. Like it was so stale you could make croutons with it and not even need the double bake. The workers were rude and loud yelling to one another talking trash about other people. Constantly touching their faces to move their masks down to talk then move them back with bare hands and then touching food with those same hands. The manager just stood there and didn't do QC on the product leaving the kitchen. One worker just walked around the middle of the restaurant talking on her phone, not with headphones either. This place is good for one thing only, the wifi. Kinda funny that the one thing not ran by a human is the only thing that works appropriately at...
