A gallery on Walnut Street that’s been open for over 50 years is about to close.
This two-story gallery houses a wide range of artworks — there’s truly something for everyone, and many of them are original pieces. The space is divided into two levels: the first floor focuses more on landscapes and architecture, while the basement features mostly portraits.
The exhibits include all kinds of media and materials. Right now, everything is discounted because the owner, Brenda, is unable to manage it all on her own — her husband is ill and she has to care for him. So this long-standing shop of over five decades is sadly closing soon.
They’re no longer taking custom framing orders, but it’s definitely a great time to hunt for collectibles, get started as an art enthusiast, or pick up some prints.
I hope more Pittsburgh residents get the chance to visit before it’s gone. I used to love stopping by, even when I had no particular reason — the works inside were always inspiring and beautifully done.

Read moreMaser Galleries is excellent for framing. We had a page from an old magazine with artwork that meant a lot to us. Brenda helped us frame it beautifully. She had great ideas that we never would've come up with if we'd tried to design it ourselves. It took four or five days, and the price was very reasonable. When we picked up the framed piece, they had created a pocket in the back and tucked in some information about the magazine (Harper's) explaining its cultural and historical significance. It was very thoughtful and we really appreciated it.
While we were in the gallery for framing, we loved looking around at the paintings. They are striking, lovely, and...
Read moreThey have an eclectic variety from impressionist to still life to sports collages to Bob Ross-esque paintings. Some local artists and subjects too. Unfortunately by the time I discovered this place they had already decided to wrap things up, and they will probably be closing up shop over the coming months, a year at most. But their deals are unbeatable because they're trying to liquidate. A great number of their curation is already framed, making it very convenient for you to just hang them at home with no effort. Can't recommend them enough. Stop in before...
