I am a regular customer of Noodlehead - I get takeout like 2 times a week - but the way 3 members staff treated my mother today was disappointing and unprofessional. We were seated at 3:07 and ordered food at 3:15 with Emily G. During our order, we specifically asked for 3 out of 5 dishes to be placed as takeout. The in person delivery timing was normal (we got the dish at 3:22) BUT after dining in and paying for all 5 dishes, we waited another almost 45 minutes for our takeout.
It was clear Emily had not put in the takeout portion order from the start and that she didn’t do so until we asked again at 3:45. During our first ask, instead of just admitting she forgot, she blamed “the system” and then went over to the back to put in our order. When we asked at 4:05 for a status of our order, the hostess and a male server, asked us ridiculous questions like “Did you even pay?” or “Are you sure you ordered?” (instead of finding out the status of our order).
Our food came out at 4:15, an hour after we initially ordered.
I’ve been a server myself and it would have been appreciated if Emily and the other staff just took accountability for their mistake instead of continuously placing the responsibility back on us. During the first exchange, it would have been great if Emily just let us know the truth so we could have done a refund and not have to wait so long. In regards to our second exchange with the hostess and male server: Rule number one of dealing an upset customer is to NOT tell them to “just calm down,” and another is NOT to gaslight!! I hope there is more training for the inexperienced members of the staff so another customer does not leave gaslit and ignored like we did.

Read moreReally bad vibes at this place. Visiting from Ohio, was told there would be a 25 minute wait when we got there but the host immediately took our name and number and told he would text us. Took about that time to get the text, and when we were entering to get seated he was telling the black man walking in that there was a 25 minute wait “but they had carry out”. The gentleman had to insist that he wanted to be added to the waitlist and the host kept acting like he didn’t even want to do that for him. I never saw him come back during our meal so I’m not sure if he was ever really contacted.
As for the food, I asked for my meal to be a 3 spice level, what came out was definitely more of 4.5/5 level that was basically inedible it was so spicy. When I asked the waitress if it could be remade, she asked if I wanted a 1 but I explained that I just wanted it remade to be a 3 spice level similar to what my boyfriend had been served (he had also ordered a 3 on the scale). She then said that the cooks at each station “just eyeball” measuring the spice levels. So there is no consistency across what each level actually tastes like. She did get me another one, and it did taste much better, but it definitely tasted like a 1 on the scale and like they didn’t put any spice in.
Overall, from the start the behavior of the staff just put an awful taste in my mouth. Had much better service at Urban Tap where we grabbed a drink while we were waiting. Wished we had stayed there instead of supporting a business that clearly did not treat all of their...
Read moreIt's really really really frustrating when a restaurant has clear allergen markers when ordering, and for many months say they can accommodate food allergies, and then you eventually find out that they actually can't
Why are there allergen markers when ordering but it can't be guaranteed that the tofu is gluten-free or not?
I was told that the tofu is fried in the morning in fresh oil. I've ordered countless times and about half the time I got a headache afterwards, I had thought it must be from the spice level or something. But I just found out that the kitchen is not told to notify the servers/hosts if they end up frying more tofu that day in gluten-contaminated oil. I tried calling to ask before ordering and no one answered the phone. So like, why have such a nice clearly marked allergen checklist for ordering if the kitchen is not being told to let the other staff know if they end up making tofu in gluten-contaminated oil? I have no idea about the other allergens but gluten is an extremely common one where it can make people really sick. I understand they can't always guarantee it but I don't understand why the kitchen staff wouldn't be instructed to communicate about whether or not the tofu gets contaminated that day. It's very confusing thinking a place truly cares about being allergen-friendly but then being told it's a total mystery and they'll never know for sure if it's gluten-free or not
The food is good if you don't have any allergies I guess. Really frustrating and...
