We parked and walked around looking for somewhere new to try out for my daughters birthday lunch. She chose this place and I had my doubts. Those doubts were put to rest when we saw approximately 10 or more (i assume) door dashers come and go before we even got our drinks. She got the red curry with chicken, I got the chicken satay and dumplings. I'm not usually a fan of curry dishes but I have to say, this was not only the best curry I've ever tried, but some of the best tasting dishes period. The flavors were really smooth but spicy, it was ALL things. Then the chicken was well cooked for small chicken slivers but that cucumber sauce was just something I've never had. It was like sweet vinegar, yet sour, with the freshness of cucumber. Obviously the peanut sauce was also amazing, you cant mess up peanut sauce. The sweet soy dipping sauce for the dumplings was also just very well done. The dumplings were above average and they were topped with little crunchy fried garlic nuggets that really worked well. The young woman at the counter was very kind, especially when I said I've never been there and I dont know how to order......she simply said "oh that's okay, take your time" in a very soft inviting voice. She seems like a nice person but maybe a little nervous or busy. I think she would do well to be more natural and let her personality out and chit chat a little more. But again, they were busy. She was great, I'm just giving the only piece of advice I could give to this perfect lunch experience. After we ordered she brought us our thai teas, which were perfect, and some waters. It was around $27 bucks and we both left stuffed, even with lunch portions, and I forgot to mention the little lunch soup I didnt even know was coming. It was a simple broth type soup but had great flavors. I would have drank it if not in public. 27 bucks for 2 thai teas, red curry lunch and two great appetizers. I made sure to tell her how great it was. my only regret was wishing I had more cash on me to order more to take home and more so I could tip more than the 7 bucks I left. I'm looking forward to trying all of the other curry dishes if I can ever not get the red, which will be a challenge. This place is a gem! A diamond among all the other flashy choices on Murray and Forbes. WE WILL BE BACK WITHOUT A DOUBT. Thanks again for providing my daughter a great lunch on her birthday. I hope if we order things to go that they will be of the same level in taste and care our orders received...

Read moreI honestly wasn't impressed. Having tried many Thai restaurants around the Pittsburgh area, I saw Thai and Noodle Outlet specialized in noodles and seemed to be a good potential dinner spot for me. They had some interesting menu items, but I went with a classic Pad Thai with chicken.
If you do not like sweet Pad Thai, do not order it from here or make sure to select a very spicy heat level! It is very sweet, and I am saying this as someone who prefers sweet Pad Thai. It was almost too sweet for even me, but it was still alright. When you first pick it up, you see the red hue to the noodles, and it threw me off. There is a somewhat weird ketchup aftertaste to it. Not a huge fan.
Portions are okay. Not to big, most can finish in one sitting, but enough to make you full. Prices are appealing, but places in Edgewood/Swissvale offer even cheaper prices for a similar portion and much better quality. The chicken was pretty tasty and well cooked. They added enough sauce to the dish, which I can appreciate. I would have liked more peanuts or a stronger peanutty flavor (they just sprinkle a tad bit on top, that's the extent of the peanut flavor). They are also conservative with their use of bean sprouts.
All in all, not my favorite Thai place in the city. I'll want to try other Thai spots around it. Be warned that the Pad Thai is very sweet, and has a strange...
