Beyond Juicery + Eatery — Restaurant in Pittsfield Charter Township

Came in two days ago before work to grab a quick lunch, thinking it would be similar to a tropical smoothie. Waited 5 minutes before any of the workers acknowledged me should have been my sign to walk out because it wasn’t until some man came in and asked for something did they think to take my order. I work in the service industry, it’s really not that hard to ask if someone’s ready to place an order.

Moving past that the prices are insane even for Ann Arbor. I decided to just get a chicken caesar wrap as I didn’t have much time to go else where and thought it wouldn’t take long to prepare. Worse $12 I ever spent. Got horrible, horrible food poisoning and it is from this place as it was the only thing I ate that day. Imagine trying to work with food poisoning. I had to call off the next day as it was still so bad. My guess is they didn’t clean the vegetables properly or they have some sort of contamination problem. I'm split on this one. The mango tango smoothie was good (but with coconut cream, pineapple, banana, and mango, how could it not be?). The Carlos detox smoothie was healthier, but too limey and sour for me. The cali chicken salad is another story: The salad tasted like a McDonald's salad to me, which means edible but lots of lettuce, some highly processed ingredients, and worst of all, many ingredients were mushy and not fresh - tomatoes were past their prime. (update: see the reply of this business where they report they only use romaine lettuce. It must've been romaine 🤷🏼‍♀️🥬). Either way: the lettuce was yellowed, and the avocado was brown-green. The balsamic salad dressing was also not good- while not terrible, it was more processed than a from scratch/home made vinaigrette. Maybe I got them on a bad day at the end of their produce life cycle.. but for that price and quality in a salad, I will plan to...

I’ve been eating here since this location opened. I come for the after workout protein. The ingredients are great, the service is fast. I always pay the extra $3 for extra chicken with my wrap. But the past few times there has not been extra chicken.

Nobody wants to be that guy that has to take a few bites into their food right there in the store to ensure you got what you ordered. Nobody wants to be that person that has to wait for their order to be prepared again. Let alone be the one that always has to say hey you got this thing wrong againnnn. If it was a one time thing okay fully understandable, but the last 3 times i’ve ordered a wrap it has not been correctly assembled. The employees are often new so it’s a hit or miss with order...
