Golden Phoenix — Restaurant in Pittsfield

I've ordered here numerous times and never had food anything less than excellent. It's always just as good as you want Chinese food to be and it isn't as insanely expensive as Asian food often is.

The staff are, in general, completely lacking in personality. They're not necessarily rude, but don't expect friendly smiling faces from staff in house, on the phone, or driving. Don't expect easy parking, either, as there is really next to none.

I've only had 2 misses here, both with delivery. In fact, their biggest issue is their delivery.

The first incident was the driver calling the wrong number to tell me he was there. Thankfully, he had the sense to call the restaurant who then called me. He was somehow irritated with me for it until he confirmed my number and realized he was calling the wrong number.

The second was a missing item on my order. I called them about it and they drove all the way back to drop it off.

That's all that's occurred, but it takes ages for them to actually deliver, and I live about 5 blocks away. I understand they're not going to run out the door because I live close, but it really does seem like they've got like two drivers on any given night. That's surprising, because they always seem extremely busy.

Worst experience I've ever had here! I understand you are busy but it absolutely does not justify our experience! I've worked in restaurants all my life and would never have sent this food to my customers! Not only was your estimated delivery time wrong by more than an hour past the time you said but it arrived cold, not lukewarm but cold and soggy or dried out! When I called at a half hour past your estimated delivery time, you have no answer but that your driver's are busy. So do you send your driver's out with far too many orders that they sit in a car for over an hour and expect your customers to recurve warm food?! On top of that the packaging was a complete mess! Sauce containers exploded in the bag completely covering all food containers leaving a sticky mess! The lo mein is dried out and sticking out of the top of the opened messy box! I rarely post reviews, but I ordered some food for delivery for the first time yesterday and was quite disappointed. I was waiting for over an hour and was about to call and ask where my order was when I got a call telling me my order was ready for pick up. I told the girl that I ordered for delivery. She said I did not and asked for my address. She had already taken my address for the delivery when I ordered. Then I asked her how long it would be and she said they are busy, so when they can.
