Empire Pizza Restaurant — Restaurant in Pittsfield

I've been eating at Empire Pizza for quite some time now. I'd say that the food is good with average fare. I've always appreciated this option for take-out when I don't feel like cooking or am on the go. However, as of late, I've noticed that the prices being charged do not coincide with the menu in the restaurant or with the menu that is posted online. The last couple of times I've had to bring this to the staff’s attention. In all honesty they didn’t seem to care much! Last night in particular my bill was $4 more than it should of been. For me it’s not necessarily about the money, although that is a concern but it’s more about consistency and honesty. I was being charged for cheese on my cheeseburger and charged for cheese on my grilled cheese. The staff told me that they were having trouble with the computer overcharging for cheese. So with that said they should have been paying attention to the problem rather than me having to bring it to their attention. When ordering a deluxe meal you are given the option between curly fries or steak fries. On this particular evening we wanted curly fries. Come to find out curly fries are a dollar plus more than steak fries. This would have been fine had I been told that curly fries cost more. Curly fries and steak fries should not be offered as an either or option if one costs more than the other. I attempted to educate the staff there about my concerns while talking about morals and unethical practice. I got a bunch of blank stares and some eye rolling. Last nights pizza was AWESOME!! UPDATE 10/23/22 I don’t know what happened to this place but the food I just ordered was all around awful. Out of the 3 subs I ordered 2 of my subs were toasted and supposed to be cold. The Reubens had very little meat on them, they were very dry and they had almost NO sauer kraut on them. The Italian sub was toasted as well making the lettuce and veggies soggy, I’m mostly bummed about the bread being toasted, one of the reasons I order subs is my love of the bread. I tried a bite of each, tried doctoring them a bit, but ultimately just couldn’t eat them. The curly fries with cheese sauce came with the cheese sauce directly on them so of course they were soggy by the time they got here.The steak fries came the same way but somehow we’re still dry in the inside of the fry itself. The side salad was fine, crispy green lettuce was nice. The impressive part of the meal was the pickles. They’re actually really good. The best part of this whole experience was the delivery driver. I specifically asked for no egg on my salad and when I had gotten it it had eggs. I called immediately and he told me to pick it off. I demanded a new one asI am allergic. He was very rude. The salad looked like it was thrown together. McDonald's southwest sald looked better than this . The way I want it was the way it was described. Grilled chicken . Not thrown cold cuts on lettuce and open a can of corn and throw it on. Plus thank you for the salad dressing.
