Waffle House — Restaurant in Plainfield

We go there regularly and tonight our service,food and experience was totally below average and subpar!!

Plus the employees had the Air conditioning turned down so cold the windows were frosting updo they didn't have to be hot behind the grill was the first statement when we asked them to turn it down, but when you walked to the back area it was warm and more comfortable... maybe that's why they was hanging out back there... BUT, I want to say I normally don't complain but tonight I felt like something needed said... only because when you are served cold food and under cooked food I want it brought to CORPORATE ATTENTION because that can affect someone's health or life... The cook was to busy doing something in the back that the waitress did the cooking and I believe thats why things were cold and undercooked because she's not a cook but a waitress... our sausage was still pinkish inside and cooler, the over medium eggs were not cooked properly and the yolk was runny but the whites were still very clear all around the yolk and clearly not over medium , now comes the raw hashbrowns they were only browned on side of the hash browns and then the grits were so runny and not warm but cold...

And then when we brought it to the attention of the waitress she took her time correcting the issue and brought out grits so THICK and microwaved they couldn't be ate with the meal so I don't understand what the point was for this!! Really disappointed with the service and quality of this local restaurant because it has really went down hill here lately and the employees have dropped the ball here, sorry if this sounds harsh... I'm just being honest about what was one of our favorite restaurants to go to and enjoy their coffee,food and...

We went to get brunch. Walked in. No one greeted us. When we were spoken to it was about that we can’t wait inside due to too many patrons and the fire Marshall’s would not be happy. So we went outside. Waited for a while. They did next us but when we went in to get seated they could only seat 6 and not the full 7 of us and had no solution until my brother in law asked to clean the adjoining booth. When I sat down at the booth that was clean and ready there was syrup on my seat which ended up on the back of my thighs. Also there was syrup on the table that was cleaned also. So they cleaned it up when asked. Meanwhile they cleaned the adjoining booth. We had to wait for the rest of our group to be seated which took more time. We finally got asked for our drinks and meals but they did not bring straws or silverware until we asked. The lady that took our order was good but then they brought bring food to our table 3x and had two people ask myself and spouse what our meal was, including the same girl that wrote down our meal. It was so weird. The nice elderly gentleman did state they were pretty much new and apologized but some things shouldn’t be hard. Like writing down my order and knowing what it was. Also would suggest greet customers and keep them up on what is going...

10000000000% stars. First of all I'm originally from Memphis now living in Chicago since 99. Even though I've been back south, I'm usually in an out. So, while my wife and I was on a weekend getaway, I noticed a highway sign advertising THE WAFFLE HOUSE... Now, u don't even know the BIG BACK ORGASM I had once I arrived to my hotel and immediately confirmed that my eyes were not deceiving me.. My back would not allow me to rest properly so, I woke my wife up at 345a, showered and dressed and arrived at the local at approximately 5a. Needless to say, I completely had a BONER in my back upon arrival. I didn't even need the menu, I specifically remembered my order from my highschool days and man, they did not disappoint. Look, all was well but, when I wrapped my lips around that soft but lightly crispy biscuit, I paused, for a moment of silence.. OMFG.. Upon exiting the restaurant, I laid hands on the bricks and blessed the restaurant like I was POPE LEO... WHAT!!! 🔥🔥🔥😛. In the word of Arnold, I'LL BE BACK, ME AND MY BACK.. SOON AND VERY SOON.. I spent like 28 dollars but, I gave the waiter (I hate I forgot his name but I think he was new) every last dollar that was in my wallet like 47 dollars. I didn't even want the change...
