Uncle Bob's Ham & Eggers — Restaurant in Plainville

Went to Uncle Bobs for the first time today. A friend and i thought it would be really something great since it was packed on Sunday morning and we couldnt get in, so we figured a Wednesday morning is slower. The food was quickly at our table, nothing to write home about tho. But the more egregious part was being nickel and dimed. My friend ordered 2 hotdogs, with mustard and the pickle relish. Fries. I got a sandwich with lettuce and tomato. Friend charged .75 for relish times 2!! For the 2 hotdogs. Im talking the relish that McDonalds gives you for free in the little packets!! I was charged .75 extra for the lettuce and tomato on my sandwich. We were not amused. Waitress should have told us that the condiment was a buck fifty extra and waitress should have said that lettuce and tomato is extra as well. I mean isn't lettuce and tomato a usual on a sandwich? They shouldnt do this, just add into your sandwich price because it seems like youre nickle and diming your customer. This place is GREAT. Down to the things that are mostly forgotten by most breakfast places COFFEE & TOAST. The toast is thick and made fresh, and the coffee does NOT taste like water. My favorite is their perfect flavorful waffles with fruit and whipped cream, and my go to omelet is the Mexican because I like spicy stuff. My husband always goes for the peirogies and eggs, and orders a side of their homemade corned beef hash which is the best I've had in a long time. The place is very small but turnover is quite fast. I'd say the longest I've ever had to wait for a table no matter the size of my party was about 10 min. Better than your most popular breakfast wait times. The waitstaff is very nice, down to earth and once you order, it's surprising how fast your food is served. The portion sizes are generous too. This place surely knows how BREAKFAST IS THE MOST IMPORTANT meal of the day. So your in, your out, and on with your afternoon! I come here often especially when I don't feel like making breakfast myself, because it's as close to home...

Uncle Bob's.... It's hard to say. The ambiance is nice. The waitresses are kind and speak very clear and are thoughtful. The owner has a ton of experience and wants things done right but the food is very bland. No flavor. The food is okay I wish that he would make sure the food is made correctly instead of using an excuse that the majority of people who come in are elderly so we try to make them happy.. what about the rest of us who want taste and seasoning to our food. The sausage gravy was bland and runny like water so the biscuits didn't really taste so good and the bacon I asked for soft came out hard and crispy the homefries were tasteless and I asked for onions and the onions were added in raw so they were too hard to chew.
