Alexander's Mex Cuisine — Restaurant in Plano

I recently visited this new Mexican restaurant and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed. From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly kind and attentive, making me feel welcomed and valued as a customer. The atmosphere was humble, warm and inviting, with colorful decor and traditional music playing softly in the background. Not what I was expecting from the humble look on the outside.

Now, let's talk about the food. Oh my, it was absolutely delicious! The menu offered a variety of authentic Mexican dishes, such as enchiladas, fajitas, tacos, etc.. I ordered the pozole not really expecting much. The pozole was flavorful and had just the right amount of spice, and there was no shortage of pork. The salsa that came with the chips was also good.

One thing to note is that the restaurant currently doesn't have their liquor license, but this actually worked out in my favor. They give you a free margarita until they obtain their liquor license.

Portion sizes were good, and the food was well-prepared with fresh ingredients. The service was attentive, and the overall experience was enjoyable. The music was a bit loud.

Complimentary Chips and Salsa - The tortilla chips were crunchy and not greasy. Two salsas were served—a red salsa that was spicy but flavorful, and a bean dip that had a good bean flavor without being greasy.

Claudia’s Salad with Chicken ($13) - A fresh salad with avocado, cheese, tortilla strips, and a grilled chicken breast. The grilled chicken had a great charred flavor that stood out.

Roasted Shrimp Relleno ($15) - A mild but very flavorful chili relleno topped with a salty, cheesy sauce.

Oceanside Tacos with Salmon ($16) - These tacos featured grilled salmon that provided a good balance of spice and meatiness.

Beans and Rice - Both were flavorful and tasty. The beans paired especially well with the tortilla chips after the entrees were done.

The reviews were accurate. I tried this place because I was craving Mexican food and my normal spot closed down. I was a bit skeptical but after my experience today, I was.pleasantly suprised.

I ordered chicken fajitas and spanish rice with black beans. The food was so flavorful and yet not salty at all. I thought thr portions was adequate and i love that they didnt give me this huge bag of chips. Salsa and chips are my favorite. The salsa had a decent amount of spice. I just wish the salsa was a bit more chunky.

The staff was cool and acknowlegded me as soon as I walked in the door. The food didn't take too long either and was hot still when I reached home. The sangria at this place was good.
