My wife and I ventured out to a seafood restaurant which was recommended by a coworker.
Inside: We were promptly greeted and was instructed to pick an area we wanted to sit. We chose a booth next to a wall that advertised their daily specials in chalkboard format. The booth was very clean and comfortable. The bar appeared to be well stocked with your world renowned alcoholic beverages. They also had T.V.'s for entertainment.
Ordering: Our waiter was very friendly, polite, and knowledgeable of the menu. I really did not know what I wanted, but I noticed a barcode to scan for pictures of dishes from the menu. Once I did that it was even harder to decide; because, all of the posted images online were eye-catching. But I finally decided step out of my comfort zone and ordered the Garlic Parmesan Flounder.
While waiting: They offered free samples of four soups. I forget the names, but I know the white one is clam chouter and the brown one was jumbo. I couldn't name the other two which was my favorites.
Meal time: Our food came out piping hot, captivating, and the rich aroma of freshly prepared fish. The Flounder was well seasoned and flakey inside and layout over veggies - perfectly cooked with a little crunch and creamy potatoes. The sauce brought everything together which made a very satisfying dinner.
We will definitely return ..
Update: My wife & I went back to try something different. We were promptly greeted and was asked to find a seat our choice. Our waitress was Ashley who was very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. I ordered the Alabama Catfish and my wife settled for the red fish.
Dinner: I had two large pieces of Catfish and with a corn like crust, flakey & meaty inside; the fries were well seasoned; the hushpuppies had a touch of greatness; and the coleslaw was a little dry & lack some spices. However, the overall was wonderful and prepared...
Read moreHad a great early Valentine's day dinner here on Monday, our waiter was so sweet and had perfect pacing (drinks always full, never had to wait to ask for extra anything).
They heard it was our first time so they brought out a soup sampler for each of us for their house soups. We would come back just for the soups! We tried poblano, gumbo, and clam chowder.
Folks, my fiancée is from new orleans and he said the gumbo is amazing for the area (IYKYK), I thought it was great too! My only critique is that it could be spicier, but nothing their house hot sauce couldn't fix (at every table).
We ended up with the calamari appetizer, the breading was light and crisp. Served with a sweet chili sauce and tartar sauce. Would order again 4/5 stars.
I had the Garlic Parmesan flounder with mashed potatoes and the seasonal vegetable (It was sugar snap peas the night we dined). The fish was so light and flakey, and the veggies were seasoned perfectly and were so fresh! There's a reason you see this at almost everyone's table 😊
My partner had the scallops and shrimp special of the day with garlic spinach and polenta cakes. This was amazing! Shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly and tasted super fresh.
We both grabbed a cocktail during happy hour, I got the dilema margarita (house frozen marg with strawberry and mango swirl), and my partner got the blackberry french 75. Great value! Drinks were strong and delicious at about $8. Will be coming back just for happy hour!
Bread pudding was pretty good, some of the corners were a little chewy and we both agreed we'd like more vanilla/cinnamon flavor. Still worth ordering though, I'd rate it 3/5 stars.
Suffice to say we were both in heaven! Will be...
Read moreWe visited on a Friday evening for the first time and loved everything about the restaurant. We loved the energy of the Friday evening crowd, complete with live music. One of the owners stopped by our table and gave us a soup sampler to try. My husband loved the poblano soup so much, he ordered a cup along with Firecracker Shrimp Tacos (which was not on the menu but written on the giant chalkboard on the wall.). I ordered the Southwest Fish Tacos served with a side of Mexican black beans & rice. Delicious and very, very fresh. We started our meal with margaritas (frozen & rocks) because they were just $6 during happy hour. To go with our drinks, we ordered crispy calamari to start. The calamari was wonderful—sweet and hot. Our servers were delightful and fun. I would like to return for brunch which has non-seafood items. We visited because Anaya’s Seafood was a featured donor at Taste of Plano 2024 benefitting the Hendrick Scholarship Foundation. The owner said he tries to give back to the local community as much as he can. Love that! Highly recommend for a great night out. Update: We visited for brunch on Mother’s Day. The Super Mex, Chicken Bacon & Waffles, and Mexican Omelette were very good. All came with rosemary potatoes or hash brown casserole. It would have been fun to enjoy a featured watermelon margarita but it was a little too early in...
