Hey everybody wanted to let you know about Benedict’s up in Plano off of Parkwood Boulevard and 121. We went there Sunday morning for breakfast to celebrate my daughters birthday. It’s been several years since I’ve been to Benedict’s and I’ve never been to this location. I’ve gone to the original location of Midway Road in Addison, but like I said that was many years ago, but I have to tell you Benedict’s is still spot on. We arrived at 9 o’clock and didn’t have to wait at all or seated immediately the waitress came brought us coffee water and juice of the place was very clean very family oriented everybody look like they were enjoying themselves in the food looked amazing. So within five or 10 minutes our waitress came back and took our order and although we did make some changes to the entrées adding things, taking things away etc., her response was “no problem whatsoever whatever you want will make it happen” and they did and that’s nice to know because sometimes you do like to change things around a little bit and some places have a problem with that but not this place. Our food arrived in about 12 to 15 minutes which is really no wait at all, everything look picture perfect from the waffles to the BLT on a croissant to the omelette with hollandaise sauce to the Brooklyn Benedict and the pastrami on that was really good. Our food was hot, it was fresh ingredients, everything was really clean from the silverware to the glasses to the table and overall the whole restaurant was really well taken care of and you could see that and the staff all looked very happy to be there and they all seem to really enjoy what they do which is also a great bonus any time you go out. As the morning progressed more people started coming in but we never felt rushed or hurried we had a very relaxing enjoyable breakfast experience there I would highly recommend this place it’s easy to get to quick on and off 121 but it’s a really a good one. If you haven’t been there give it a try, their selection is pretty varied and you’ll be able to find something that you will totally enjoy so go there, enjoy family and friends and good food and good times the Benedict’s up in North Plano off 121 in...
Read moreDo not come here when they are close to their closing time (2PM). Though they tell you “no rush”, you will see by the many times they visit your table that you need to wrap up soon. In fact, our food is served along with our bill. Think a second and pause.. Why would one do that? After consuming about 25% of my food, our table was again visited. So when the server left I put my card on the bill to pay for the food I have not fully consumed. And the server took my card along with the bill and processed it. He put the unsigned bill with my card back on our table. Then consuming about only 50% of my food, the manager visited our table and checked how were doing. I was on a brief call with someone on my ipad but she doesn't seem to know. I had to talk to my work colleague on the ipad while im talking to the manager. Im not sure if I said something to her but i remember she said i have to sign the bill and left our table. (Even this puzzles me, why would I need to be told I need to sign the bill? Not unless Im a senior citizen then I could perhaps understand and appreciate the reminder). Then after a few minutes the server is back. I glanced at my plate and my daughters plate half-consumed and i asked for a to go box, frustrated at the whole experience.
So do not go here if its about 2pm. Or expect to be rushed. I think thats understandable and its pure human nature. They all want to go home. My mistake for not checking they’re only open until 2. My advice is they should put a sign on their door that they are closed to meet a certain threshold. Customers usually eat about 30 mins. So perhaps put the ‘closed’ sign immediately about 1PM. Had i known they’re only supposed to operate until 2pm, i would have picked a nearby restaurant instead. There are many good restaurants nearby.
Food is awesome. But the overall experience for me is two stars compared to the others restaurants with similar price range...
Read moreEdit: That's OK, nobody's perfect. This review is for breakfast midweek a week or so ago if that helps. We have lived in far north Plano since 1996 and eaten at Benedict's on and off since it opened.
The prices have always been way above average and not really justified in my opinion, but since the end of the pandemic they have become even less of a value proposition compared to similar quality breakfast at other places. But we thought we would try Benedict's one more time given we are now retired and eat breakfast out 3 - 4 times a week. That, and the fact that American cuisine breakfast restaurants are becoming increasing scarce in Frisco/Plano as the area evolves.
A manager does occasionally stop and ask how things are, but what are we going to do? Tell them we think you're prices are exorbitant in front of the other clientele? That using cheap chorizo is a cost cutting excuse to not serve quality meat in the dish? That we're paying Legacy West prices at a non-descript strip center just off the access road?
That's what I was thinking when I ate the egg and veggie burrito, but almost no one is going to be candid about anything negative in those conversations. Instead, I just say everything's great and don't go back. The above is my candid opinion, and the previous sentence is where we are. I truly do hope this candid feedback helps you reconsider the value you provide your customers. Some people may feel paying $15 for two pancakes makes them taste better, but I suspect you would have a lot more business if your prices were more reasonable.

$18.70 with tax but before tip for a single breakfast burrito and some hash browns on the side at a strip mall diner? The only meat in the thing was a light dash of tasteless chorizo, so basically an absurdly overpriced veggie burrito.
Geez-Louise! Is this Frisco TX or San...
