Brunch Time — Restaurant in Plano

Really bummed . Google Assistant will call and make reservation for you in this app, but I called to make a reservation for 1215 this afternoon at 8 am and they would not take one. I've been incapacitated in a hospital and nursing home for 3 months and just started being able to feed myself last week. A friend from fort worth wanted to take me to a nice brunch place near the facility as a treat. Do not care if you are mobility impaired, with my friend not able to stand for more than a few minutes. After spending a good amount of time over the weekend looking for a nice place I chose brunch time. When looking at the Google page it had its ai assistant saying it could make a time reservation by calling the place but alas they are not open in the afternoons so it could not be done. Being the one picking the place, I decided to call first thing in the morning to make the reservation and confirm we could get a booth as both of us are disabled in multiple ways. This place says it first come first serve and mentioned that we could not stand for upwards of 30 minutes and they weren't interested in helping two seniors who wanted to try their place out and help. So beware, if you are old and disabled, and not able to stand for long times, this isn't the place to enjoy a special occasion meal. Very disappointed. But in these times, in Dallas, not really surprised about customer service. I made the bad choice. Food is probably good, but customer service lacking. JOMO Just One Man's Opinion. Oh, 2nd choice was Scrambled Cafe. Tanner, the hostess was so gracious and sweet. Reserved a table close to the door for us and Daniel our server was awesome. I'll give them another try since they just opened and they have to find their flow and routine. Our experience was not great. We waited a long time for service so we just put both drink and food order in when the server came. I ordered the berry crepes specifically because of the mascarpone and asked to please not include the blueberries. The crepes came with blueberries which wasn't a big deal because I just moved them to the side but there was no mascarpone or syrup as the menu stated. I asked the server and she said I think that's what is on top of the crepes but I'll get you some extra. No, that was a bit of cream cheese on top of the crepes and the menu said a side scoop of mascarpone. I ended up getting more cream cheese, never got mascarpone. There were a few pieces of fruit inside the crepes but nothing else so they were extremely dry just tiny lines of glaze and cream cheese on top. My husband wanted Eggs Benedict but we noticed on the menu they don't put Canadian bacon on their Eggs Benedict which is very strange. We had to ask for utensils as well but like I said we understand that will get better the longer they are open. They do not offer a sweet and savory combo so it can get expensive if you want an egg with your waffle or crepes. The food was good overall and service decent... except for one huge problem which really needs to be addressed. For some reason we were seated at the very far end of the dining area, at the very last booth despite numerous other tables being available at the time we arrived. It turns out the restaurant staff use the other side of our booth to prepare silverware for the tables, which is insanely stupid and inconsiderate. Throughout the meal, we got to hear the clanging of silverware being dropped into containers, staff chatting and coughing directly behind us, and even using the top of my seatback as a convenient place to place napkins. When I asked for those to be moved, they were removed temporarily only for the next staff to come back and place the napkins back on the seat once again.

As can be seen, our overall experience was just horrible, particularly given their pricing; even more so since it was my wife's birthday. While I did let the manager know and she was apologetic, this is a major oversight in hospitality and I doubt we will give this place a second visit. I'm writing this review to let others know about this and wish the restaurant luck in improving.
