Edit: It's four years later now and time to raise our rating for this location. Service is consistently better now and hopefully the issues described earlier are permanently a thing of the past. Yesterday we had Ollie as our server and he just knocked it out of the park. There was a manager we have not seen before and she was really on top of things. She mentioned she just moved to this area 3 months ago, and between her and Ollie we had a really great breakfast experience. Great service, great food and great value. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This is the nearest First Watch to us so we keep trying to like this location. The problem is that something always goes wrong for us here. The first time we ate here my food came out 10 - 15 minutes after my wife's food. As we were leaving the manager asked if everything was good. I mentioned the issue with timing and was given a First Watch gift card. Cool, mistakes happen and it was great to see the manager step up. So when our son and daughter-in-law were in town we went back. This time it took 40+ minutes after our order was turned in for anyone to get any food. Then it came out one plate at a time, most of it cold. This morning it was understaffed confusion. When we arrived at 8:00 AM one person was having to be the cashier, seating host and bus boy. So all three of those tasks suffered, with one group of people waiting to pay, and another group waiting for tables to be cleared so they could be seated. When our food eventually came out it was not good. The food on both plates was cold, my biscuit gravy was so salty I couldn't eat it and the chicken sausage, which my wife said tasted 'off', made her ill when we got home. Maybe we were just unlucky three times in a row. But bottom line, even though the Frisco First Watch is also crowded on weekend mornings we haven't experienced these issues at that location. So it's back to driving up there when we want First Watch menu.

I will start by saying this will be my first and last time going to First Watch. Rare is it that I will find myself writing reviews for anything, the experience is either spectacular enough to warrant it or the opposite. I have heard so many great things about First Watch over the years so I figured now is the time to try it. I was looking for my hangover cure. How is it that my hash potatoes are undercooked, but my grits and soup look like they were sitting under a heater lamp for 30 minutes? Don't get me wrong, I fully understand a Sunday morning rush. This is by no fault of any of your servers, I genuinely appreciate customer service, but the lack of good customer service here today, no updates on when my food would be ready, or if it was ready, having to wait over an hour for something that should have been ready in about 20 mins? I wish I just had it delivered, especially if I was going to get delivery quality when picking up. How can half my order be cold and stale and the other half be slightly undercooked? The scramble/hash was otherwise okay, but I could not be bothered to finish the grits. They are flavorless and have a thick texture to the point you can roll them up like play dough. Soup was room temperature when I got it. Maybe I just had an unlucky day, but I do mot plan to return.

The 2 star is for the quality of the food. I give this place zero stars for customer experience. I placed an order online and was advised it would be ready at 9:19. I showed up at 9:30 and proceeded to wait for 25 minutes while the poor guy working the cash register and the host looked around helplessly and then gave me someone else’s order. Both the host and the guy at the register told me to talk to the manager rather than walk back to the kitchen to look for my food. The manager was pacing the front of house on the phone and finally advised someone else had taken my order and that they were “refiring” my order. While the manager did give me a gift card for my troubles for next time, the better option would be to implement a check off on food orders (include summary of the order on the receipt with name printed). While I waited I watched multiple Uber eats and door dash drivers come in and take the wrong food. Rather than have 3-4 people crowding the host stand, have an employee assist in making sure orders are given to the right people. This place has great food, but having this experience does not inspire me to make a return trip. In the total of AN HOUR I spent standing waiting for my food, I saw a lot of chaos among the staff, lack of initiative and no quality assurance happening.

Being here was a case of deja vu, except before it was a crummy, zero service and bad food joint. I walked in and was pleasantly surprised at the complete remodel First Watch brought to the space. The host was super friendly and thoughtfully saved me the hassle of moving a highchair into the space and removing the extra chair so I didn't have to wrestle my 1.5yr old while doing it myself.

I've only dined at a First Watch one time previously, and it's been a while, so the menu seemed brand new. There were a lot of options, between indulgence and healthy - which I love. The specialty drinks sounded incredible, but I needed caffeine, so it was iced tea for me. As my hungry eyes searched the menu I couldn't decide! Then my eyes fell upon the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, my weakness. My breakfast buddy and I laughed at the "SoCal burritto" as we are both from SoCal and that is NOT what we SoCal people put in a real burrito, but none-the-less it sounded yummy. My little man was the happy recipient of the Kids french toast (huge slice of french toast, cup of fruit and bacon for under $6), and I stuck to my Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. Our waiter, Dwight, was amazing. He was genuinely happy to do his job and did it with joy and ease. He kept our iced tea full, brought boxes for leftovers and even split our check. Excellent service Dwight! The food arrived quickly and as soon as my pancakes were in front of me deja vu set in again. This is exactly what I ordered the only other time I'd been to First Watch and they weren't great. I guess it's a good thing as I saved myself the calories from inhaling both pancakes, but the fruit on top was good and I enjoyed my son's bacon. I think next time I'll remember to order something different! Overall a great little place to order decent food at reasonable prices, and hey, if the service continues to be as great as Dwight offered, I'll come...

My wife and I recently celebrated my 22nd year anniversary with my wife at First Watch "The Daytime Cafe" 3131 Custer Rd. In Plano, TX, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by the friendly and attentive wait staff, who made us feel right at home.

We had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with the General Manager, Myriam Reyes, who was incredibly sweet and genuine. Her dedication to customer satisfaction was evident, and it truly added a personal touch to our visit.

Our waitress, Deya, was outstanding. She was attentive to our needs throughout the meal, ensuring that we had everything we needed and providing excellent service. Her friendly demeanor and professionalism made our dining experience even more enjoyable.

The food at First Watch "The Daytime Cafe" exceeded our expectations. Every dish we tried was delicious and beautifully presented. We left feeling satisfied and impressed with the quality of the ingredients and the skill of the chefs.

Overall, our experience at First Watch "The Daytime Cafe" was nothing short of wonderful. It was my wife's first time dining there, and she is already looking forward to returning. The combination of fantastic food, attentive service, and a warm and inviting atmosphere made our anniversary celebration truly memorable.

Thank you to the entire staff, especially Myriam Reyes and Deya, for making our day so special. We highly recommend First Watch "The Daytime Cafe" to anyone looking for a delightful dining experience."
