I do spend much time reading, but not everyone I know. So, I thought I would proceed in reverse. Here goes my "In short" section:
Dishes on the table: Chicken65, Spring Rolls(beginning) + Paneer Tomoto chilli, Chilli Chicken, Beef hot garlic(Entrees) We were for: Dinner on 10/13/2017 Veg Food : 2.5/5 Non-veg Food: 2/5 Service : 3/5 Price : $ Ambiance: 3.5/5 Overall Quality: 2.5/5 Tags: Bar available, casual place, good veg/vegan options.
In spite of considering some real terrible reviews, myself and three of my friends wanted to try this Indo-Chinese restaurant. After driving for nearly 40 minutes from apartment, we were welcomed to a fine good seating on a corner of the restaurant. We were highly relaxed to see most of the tables occupied (good food, more people - that's our motto).
We were seated quick but it took a while to get a server - to be exact, we had to call one who were passing by. She was very pleasant, patiently answering all our queries about the menu and politely asking to repeat the order if she couldn't get it in the first go. We have started with Tsing tao beer, chicken65 and spring rolls - these three were the best out of all dishes we tried that night!
The interesting thing to mention - we usually see couple of items in the veg options, but there were many veg/vegan items in the menu here. The main course came so quick, no waiting at all! They serve all entrees with steamed white rice. Paneer Tomoto chilli - yes, this was more like an Indian dish. Tasted good out of all the other entrees. Not so great, but yeah, the ONLY better choice we made. Chilli Chicken - We always had a feeling that there were something missing in this pot - tasted multiple times to conclude there's no salt in it. The name says "Chilli", but we did not find it hot too. Couldn't find pepper/salt on the table(that was surprising) and our server saved us to get some salt - but made no difference to the dish (there's no point we make our dish, that's better a chef do). Beef Hot garlic(dry) - This reminded us of a flat bread over-toasted. Hence proved a beef dish can be this rubbery and over-cooked! Both chicken and beef were not giving a feeling of being fresh too.
So that's it. If you're a vegetarian - yes, you could try once. Non-vegetarian - Big no!
Note: This is all based on those 4 or 5 dishes in the menu. Please do read rest of the reviews for better...
Read moreAll right folks, I rarely if ever write a review, but since this place is an atrocity to all good restaurants, I felt like I have to do this. First, I will say this, the people are nice, they just don't know what customer service is. The place is a beautiful shell posing to be a solid 5 star restaurant with none of the actual qualities of one. First, in a full house there is only one person to take your order, who is serving so many tables that by the time she get's to you, you're probably dying of hunger. Next everyone at this place does one job, and what I mean by that is, there's a person to serve you water, there's a person to clean up the tables, and there's a person to take your order. No jobs can cross over, there's a hierarchy that just cannot be messed with. Lastly, the food...oh the food. I won't say that the food is gonna mess you up bad, but if you're looking for Hakka Chinese food. This is not it. Have you in your life, seen barely salted Hakka Noodles, that look WHITE, after being cooked. Ever asked for garlic chicken, but there isn't even a single clove of garlic, much less the flavor of garlic on your chicken. How about mango chicken, except for it's an amazingly dressed dish, oh but wait...where's the chicken? Oh it's in there...a few strands at a time. Ever had chicken 65 as an appetizer that's supposedly serves three people with only 8 pieces, but costs as much as an entree? You can now if you go here. None of the food here is what the menu says it is, so if you go, and like it, either you're getting paid, or you've no idea what Hakka is. For the price, this place is insanely overpriced, I could have gone to any other place and had food, that I know tastes great, and would have happily paid the price for it. So steer clear. Go to Masala Wok or Noodle Wave...but not...
Read moreToday on our Wedding Anniversary we ordered food so we can have a nice relaxing time at home. But food we got today was horrible except Chinese Bhel. My wife decided to call the restaurant to give honest feedback...1st the lady pushed her to call UBER to complain about the food. When she explained they didn't cook the food and since this was her favorite restaurant she wanted to pass on the message to cook & Management. ~20min later a person from the restaurant called. He was too interested in giving his side of the story than really listening to the feedback. The way he was speaking it almost felt like he doesn't believe our feedback. I even offered to bring the food to the restaurant so he can see for himself. He was more interested in offering us to come and eat at the restaurant and offered couple of free appetizers. I tried to explain I am NOT looking for free food but am more interested for him to understand the issue so they can fix their operations or figure out what to change. He then started to say they did 60 orders today and the food was fresh and it was probably because of hot food packed in the box. I again tried to explain we have got same food delivery previously and it doesn't seem to be the issue. Since he really didn't want to listen we ended the call. The issue was that corn was hard as if its stail and has been reheated multiple times. Kind of like when you eat leftover next day. Rice was bland. Chicken in the rice seemed to been have boiled separately and added to fried rice. Noodles also had no flavor. Please eat or order food for here at your risk. I know we spend almost $60(before tip service charge etc). I am wondering what ruined our anniversary dinner more the bad food or bad...
