On what I hope to be our final trip up to Plano for my son's broken leg, we decided Indian food sounded great after his appointment. Maharaja came up high in my google-fu, so we decided to check it out. Small, unassuming buffet in a strip mall. We were immediately seated, and set about investigating the buffet. Admittedly, it's not a huge buffet as buffets go, but it's got all the standards-- samosa, pakora, complementary Naan bread served fresh at your table, a modest salad bar, and the usual fare: Chicken Tikka Masala, saag paneer, chicken vindaloo, tandoori chicken, etc. It was all very tasty. Less usual, the buffet also had some chicken kebab, vegetable biryani, and some of the most tender, tastiest goat curry I've ever had (disclaimer: this basic white guy has had far more than his fair share of goat, being married to a Mexican girl). Several vegetarian options, a fried fish dish, and a decent selection of desserts. Look, I'm really not a hard guy to please. I mean, I pretty much only give five star reviews. But we've been looking for a good Indian buffet for a while now. The options so far have been either overpriced or the food was just meh. But this place was outstanding, and I really mean it! Great food, friendly service, and a surprisingly great price for the lunch buffet! I need to get my son into full contact horse wrestling or something so he breaks another bone so we have an excuse to come back!

Ordered online and got Matar Paneer and Shahi Paneer. Honestly, the food was disappointing. The Matar Paneer was so oily it felt like a bottle of oil had been poured into it. The Shahi Paneer was bland with no real flavor at all. The rice was the worst part. It wasn’t good basmati rice, more like cheap long grain, and it tasted like it came straight from the buffet line. My order was ready in just 2–3 minutes, which makes me wonder if I was just served leftover buffet food. The curries were so tasteless that the peas in the Matar Paneer ended up being the only decent part of the meal. Overall, 1 star for food. Definitely not a place I’d recommend if you’re looking for good North Indian dishes. Sharing my food experiences here, follow me for more real reviews on where to go and where not to go.

Went there on a Saturday and it was surprisingly not filled with people. We got a table almost immediately. They bring fresh naan to your table and it is piping hot and fresh. The samosas were the best in the entire buffet along with the kadhi pakora. The rice was dried out and we had chunks of dried out rice. The mixed veg was okay ish, the dal makhani a nightmare. Bhindi aloo tasted good but would have been better if the rice was edible. There were a lot more meat options. The dishes were obviously catered to Americans as the food is bland without much spices. Still the food was decent, staff was friendly and restaurant was neat. The other patrons seems to enjoy the meat options more than the vegetarian options as no one seemed to touch the vegetarian options much except for the samosas.

I was highly disappointed in this restaurant which I have been coming to for many years. I ordered online today and received my normal confirmation email and details on when to pick up my order. I head to the restaurant and go in at the time I was told to pick up my online order, I go in and tell the owner who I have seen there for years that I was there to pick up my order. He looks at me and sees a man come in through the door behind me and starts to help him even though I was there first, ok np. He finally returns to help me and I give him my details about my order, he tells me he can’t find my order and never received it on his fax, even though I show him my email and the confirmation showing me it had been received and my cc was charged. He then suggest I order again, so I give him my phone with the whole order from my email, he charges me and asks for me to wait another 15 minutes for this order. I sit down with my receipt and start checking my bank info and see that I have the previous charge from the online order and now the in person order with the new charges. I go back up to the counter to show him both my online receipt and the new in person receipt to show I’ve been charged twice, I also show him my bank charges . He then starts so check my charges and tells me to cancel my online order, I go back to my online order and ask him how I’m supposed to do that when it’s already confirmed. He tells me he doesn’t know and takes the next customer behind me. I’m really frustrated that he couldn’t simply cancel the current order and just give me the original online order. I go back up and speak to him again and he tells me that I should come tomorrow when his “boss” is in, because his boss was not there today, so shady. We finally get our order and it was bland food and we never even got rice with our order. Sad, I’ll never return or recommend this place to...

Maharja has been my favorite restaurant for catering for my home parties and I recently ordered food from them for a count of 30 at my Diwali Party. Coming from Delhi and a foodie and from a family of incredible cooks passionate about food, am always on a lookout for delicious and consistent north Indian food! Maharaja outdid itself this time. From placing the order on phone to delivery to serving and keeping food warm to calling it a wrap, Mandip (from Maharaja) made it seamless and deliciously flawless. She arrived sharp on time, had brought her burners, serving spoons etc., organized the food, had attention to detail to presentation, ensured it stayed warm and took care of wrapping up after the party. Every single guest loved the food and couldn't stop raving about it - Hara Bhara Kebab, Panneer Tikka and Dahi Vada in appetizers, Dal Makhni, Kadi, Aloo Gobhi and Paneer Makhni in Main course, along with Onion Kulcha, Garlic Naan, rice, Raita, onions and Rabri Jalebi, Mango Kheer and Gulab Jamun in Dessert! All of it was awesome, but Kadi, Jalebi, Kebab, onion kulchs were the biggest Hits! Fresh, delicious and quality food! I want to take a moment and call out Mandip for being super diligent, fast, ever smiling and single handedly managing the show from end to end! I didn't have to worry about food at all and could spend time with my...
