We are of middle eastern descent and had high hopes based on the reviews we read. I can tell you that this was a massive disappointment. Definitely will not come back here.
We ordered a chicken shawarma platter and a chicken shawarma wrap with salad and a side of hummus. First off they served the shawarma in tortilla bread, not pita bread (which shawarma should be served in). The food was most definitely not fresh. The chicken was dry and bland. The garlic sauce was off, also seemed really old. The salad looks like it was left in an open container in the fridge for days. I will give credit where credit is due and say that the hummus was actually well seasoned and the flavor was great. The pita bread they served it with was clearly heated in a microwave and was stale on one side and soggy on the other…
I’d have to agree with all the 5 star reviews about the friendliness of the staff - which is why they’re getting one star.
Otherwise, the place was really dirty, the tabletops weren’t wiped down, and the floor especially was...
Read moreTLDR: would I go back? Yes. Got a sample on the way out of Walmart, and was surprised, good shawarma, at Walmart! So, digging this type of food, I came back, not to Walmart, but to this restaurant. The store itself is clean, and inviting. The owner was there, at the register, with care about his business. Talked with him briefly, got my food, then told him a am a paid Google reviewer so that he would not treat me special. I them took photos with his permission. I took a video, several pics of the meat, and do on, it was great. I will be going back with the wife. I got a a wrap, 7", less than $5, sharwma good size, no sides, and I was satisfied. Where can you eat in 2022 and feel good? I do not give many five stars, with thousands of my reviews. But this place is solid. Kudos to the store...
Read moreThis location doesn’t answer their phone. I live 35 minutes away and I wanted to make a large order for a family gathering so by the time I get there it will be ready. I love the food don’t get me wrong. But answering the phone is necessary… that’s something they need to work on. The Irving location I feel is the best. Very authentic. Like that was the original one. People who are saying shawarma is microwaved and they don’t like it, don’t listen to them. The shawarma can be made with many different items. They chose the simple delicious way to make it. Garlic, pickle, and delicious chicken. You don’t need more than that to make your mouth water! Anyway, answer your phones please. I’d hate to drive such a long way just to sit there and wait and then drive back. But you guys are...
