Here’s what was ordered:
Fiery Nashville Sandwich: 10/10; $12 I really enjoyed this sandwich, the brioche bun soaked up the juices from the slaw and made the experience quite delicious. The slaw was slightly sweet and had a nice crunch too. I really like coleslaw and was a big fan of the slaw here. I ordered the “electrical fire” spice level and it was the perfect amount of heat for me. There was even a nice spread of seasoning on the fries too. I was surprised by how spicy the fries were but the sauce that came with the order cooled me down. I was also a big fan of the sauce, it was sweet and didn’t make me thirsty like the Ricky’s or Raising Canes sauce. Overall I really enjoyed the sandwich combo.
Tex-Ville Sandwich: 9/10; $12 I was excited to try the Tex-Ville because I LOVE Texas toast, there’s nothing better than a garlicky buttered piece of hot toast slathered with coleslaw and fresh hot chicken. But I felt like there wasn’t any garlic butter on the bread. It was more of a sandwich with white bread instead of a brioche bun. I do believe that the sandwich would have been amazing if it was slathered with garlic butter and I hope that it happens the next time I visit.
Fiery Mac & Cheese: 9/10; $12 As for the Fiery Mac & Cheese, I was genuinely excited to try this. I have seen Mac and Cheese as a side at most hot chicken spots but never an actual meal where the chicken is mixed with the Mac and Cheese. I definitely give creativity points here. The crispness of the chicken and cheesiness of the macaroni made this entree worth the $12. I would just suggest making it a little more cheesier, maybe using pepper jack and cheddar cheese to heighten the flavors.
Butterscotch Shake: 9/10; $6 When I saw this on the menu, I was curious to try it. As for drinks, the other spots just serve sodas or alcoholic beverages. But shakes are new and should be welcomed, I chose the butterscotch shake out of the chocolate and taro flavors because it reminded me of butterbeer from the Harry Potter series. When I tried the shake I noticed the nice drizzle of butterscotch on the side of the cup and when I took a sip I noticed small pieces of crushed up butterscotch candy and graham cracker crust. It was incredible, the shake was thick and creamy, the crushed candy and graham crackers were an added plus. The shake was perfect alongside the spicy chicken as it doused the flames in my mouth. But I do have two things to say about the shake: first, the straw wasn’t wide enough to drink through, meaning I really had to put a lot of energy into drinking it. I suggest buying larger straws so people aren’t putting in so much effort to enjoy their shake. The second thing is that the shake was very rich and sweet, I was only able to drink about 1/4 of it before tapping out. I do like how I was given a bottle of water with my shake, but perhaps the shake’s recipe could be altered to where it isn’t so sweet. Other than that, I really liked the creativity of the recipe and the flavors that came from the butterscotch shake.
Conclusion: I really liked the food at Fiery Hot Chicken. I think this place is the true rival to Ricky’s, leaving Hot Chicks dead last on the list of places to try Zabiha Nashville Chicken. The restaurant was nicely decorated and I felt welcomed as I ordered my food. I’m excited to see this business flourish InshAllah. Make sure to visit and support Muslim owned small...
Read moreI can heartily recommend this restaurant to anyone who is a fan of Nashville Hot style chicken, and that is surprising because I am not really a fan of this type of chicken . It isn't that they prepare it badly at all, (they don't) or that the spice levels are too hot (they aren't, because a wide range is offered) I like wings and when I order them at other places I always get them hot, so that isn't an issue for me. I just prefer my chicken flavored in a different manner. I also eat out only rarely so I don't have a long list of other restaurant options to compare this to. The prices are a bit high for my budget, but that just means that I would make fewer trips, not that I would cross them off my list.
What I REALLY want to say here is that the manager of this store is EXTREMELY personable and in my experience goes out of his way to correct any problem that a customer might have. On my first visit, the food was EXCELLENT. I had a sandwich), and the organic drinks were a nice and tasty surprise (I had carbonated lemonade). There was, however, a problem with the change given back to me. I returned a few days later to talk to them about it and explain how it affected me as a customer. It was a pleasant conversation in both directions, and when I thanked them (manager and one fellow behind the register) for taking the time to talk with me, the manager began to write out a coupon. I told him 2 or 3 times that I did not come in for that nor did I need it, and that I knew they had just started operations so I wanted them to keep their money so they could stay in business. The manager insisted and I finally took the coupon. A couple of weeks later while out on an errand and having missed lunch and with no money to spend, I stopped in and used my coupon.
This time, the food was even better than the first time. I got chicken (breast) tenders, which were very tender and very juicy and stayed hot for my entire meal. Banana pudding dessert was great, as well. The dining room and restroom were both clean. There was no noise problem even though the dining area is near the register/ordering area.
Note that the food here is halal. If that is a plus to you, that's great. If it is a deal-breaker for you, then I thought I should point it out. I know that some Christians and Jews will not eat halal food but I am a Christian who has considered the matter carefully and it is OK with me.
I thought that Fiery Hot Nashville Chicken was an all-around excellent experience. If you're a fan of Nashville Hot chicken, or want to give it a test, and you are anywhere near east Plano, then I think this is the place...
Read moreEdit: In response to the restaurant’s comment below: I did try calling ahead of time after placing my order to confirm they got it. They did not answer my call. When I was at the restaurant, I noticed they were letting the phone ring without answering it at least a few times. Maybe sometimes they answer the phone, but I did not witness that. As for their claim that they offered to "make up for [my] experience," that is simply not true either. Unless they meant that they offered to fulfill my order an hour late, which was not an option for me as I was already running quite late for my meeting with friends. They did not offer anything else to make up for the poor service, other than a condescending lecture about the virtues of being patient.
Terrible service. Placed an order through Chowbus. Got a projected pickup time of 20 minutes. Showed up 30-35 min later and was told by the guy at the register “Oh, the order came in late, it will be another 15 minutes.” I don’t know what that meant. Maybe it really came in 30 minutes late through chowbus. Or maybe he didn’t pay attention to the online orders close enough and missed it. I was upset but ultimately told him I’ll wait. After 20 minutes pass, I go back to the register and he tells me another 15-20 minutes. When I got upset, I think justifiably so, he tried to lecture me on the virtues of being patient. Pointed to some random lady and said “look she’s been waiting for her order,” or something like that. Okay. So i told him he needed to sever ties with chowbus since they apparently don’t function properly. And I told him he shouldn’t have personally made promises about how long it would take to get my order if he couldn’t fulfill those promises. Because of his giving me a false promise, I had to meet up with friends empty handed. I basically showed up to a bring-your-own-food picnic empty-handed. Had he just told me “sorry the order got in late (true or not), it will be another 35-40 minutes,” I would have walked out and had time to go to a fast food place at least and get something quickly. But my friends were waiting and I didn’t want to keep them waiting any longer. But I guess I need to learn the virtue of patience. I drove 40 minutes to go to this restaurant specifically and left empty handed. They ought to learn the virtue of taking personal responsibility and following through on...
