I generally hesitate heavily to leave even slightly negative reviews and don’t want to give them low stars because they just opened and might be working out the kinks but I was a bit shocked by the service and the food. Just thought I’d put my experience out there for other customers.
We came in over an hour before closing time and my server left my table as I was ordering, mid-sentence, to go check on something. When she came back she went to the wrong table and stood there for a bit before I waved her back over to me. She left as I was trying to complete the same order a second time to seat people who were coming in as she was rushing us to order since the kitchen was closing in a bit. I was trying to order but wasn’t being given the time to and she wasn’t paying attention when I was ready to order either.
I understand this is a new establishment and they may be understaffed but the food was also missing the mark by quite a bit.
The appetizers were cold and not fresh it seemed as though they had been sitting out for a bit when they were served to us but had some since we were so hungry. The main thing I order was Pad Krapow (a minced meat in brown sauce dish) but I feel like I received Pad Pri King (a green bean heavy dish). I really had to fish for pockets of meat it was mostly vegetables and I’ve order Pad Krapow at several different Thai restaurants for over a decade and it’s never looked like this (pictured below). The sauce was flavorful but it was weird to have to look around for enough meat. The more I tried to sift through the veggies the more veggies I found. I asked the server for a fried egg on it and she told me no. I asked again assuming she misunderstood me since she said they can’t mix it in when I asked the first time and she said they couldn’t do a fried egg at all which is odd for an Asian establishment but I didn’t think much of it.
After we tried the food we asked her if this is how it came and she told us that at this location this is how they serve Pad Krapow and that it’s the right dish, and that nothing could be done. We left over half of what we ordered right there on the table and left after paying our tab. We always pack leftovers as I don’t like wasting food but it was all very underwhelming to me as an avid Thai food lover.
Just felt as though our server was being somewhat dismissive and not as attentive as she could have been. Maybe it was a long day for her.
Was really hoping to like this place it seemed very promising and the ambiance is nice but I’m not sure I would return any time soon considering everything that needs improvement...
Read moreAN UNFORGETTABLE FATHER'S DAY FEAST AT ZAZA THAI I visited a new Thai restaurant this Father's Day, expecting an average experience with "meh" service. Oh my goodness, was I surprised! I have so much to say about this place, but simply put, it was the best. I'm usually an extremely picky eater, often sticking to just fries, but this was a delightful exception. The food was incredibly good. From the moment we walked in, the waiters greeted us with their best smiles and genuine kindness. They were absolutely amazing, helping my family with all our needs and radiating positive energy. And the food! Oh my gosh, it was the absolute best! I can't even begin to explain the incredible variety. It felt like there were over 100 options, featuring everything from seafood, rice, and noodles to fries and even fried ice cream. In my opinion, the fried ice cream is a must-have with every meal – it was that good! If the dishes I mentioned don't grab your attention, trust me, there are many more types of food to explore. I cannot express how much I loved and appreciated the waiters. At the end of our meal, they were so kind and patient with all the special accommodations I needed. When I asked for extra fortune cookies, they truly went above and beyond. You might expect them to give a couple more, but they delivered far more than that. I'm not kidding—the lady dipped her hands into the bowl with a smile and scooped out as many as she could, filling my hands. I'm definitely coming back...
Read moreOrdered veggie egg rolls and crab Rangoons, both appetizers were very bland and oily, rangoons tasted like straight up cream cheese and the sauce they came with was watery and disappointingly bland, the same sauce was accompanied by the veggie rolls which were almost inedible, tasted frozen and so quickly fried you could tell cold inside and hot crunchy outside, dripping with oil. I ordered pad krapow for the main dish and was blindsided by the ridiculous amount of vegetables, honestly felt like they had just thrown in whatever they had left for the night, was basically picking the ground meat out of watery vegetables. Service was also subpar, the server I had kept ducking out mid question or conversation when me and another family were they only two in the restaurant, along with server did not comp the almost inedible appetizers even after explaining what was wrong with them and you could clearly see they were hardly eaten. Had high hopes for this place with a name like Zaza(lol)along with it being close to my neighborhood but they’ve got some very obvious problems they need to fix before I come back again. Also not to mention their prices are 3-4$ more per entree than the...
