I arrived with 3 kids at 415pm. There were only 3 tables sat at that time. All the other tables were empty. Including the table they were going to sit us. I was waiting on my parents to come inside. They wouldn't seat us because we were a party of 6. Even though 4 of us were physically inside. I told them I wanted to immediately order the kids food, appetizers, & drinks anyways bc they were hungry & it takes so long for the food to be brought out. When I brought this to their attention they rudely said "that's our policy if you don't like it you can leave." Which rubbed me to wrong way so i was definitely rude right back to her. They could have been nice & accommodating. They chose not to be. They could've even sat us as a 4 top then sat my parents next to us when they walked in. So many options if they actually had good customer service. I called my mom to let her know the issue so they could quickly walk in. I told her how rude the staff was & how I thought it was ridiculous to not seat a woman & 3 kids over the party of 6 being present policy. I would understand if we were a large party, it was busy, if there was a wait, or if they were short staffed, but that wasn't the case. They were all available & just standing around. After I got off the phone with my mom, one of the servers said "we're going to ask you to leave bc we heard you on the phone telling someone you didnt like our policy & talking about your experience." I replied that I can tell anyone I want about this ridiculous experience & how rude you guys are being. They refused service because they didn't like hearing the truth about themselves. Freedom of speech doesn't apply here apparently lol
Obviously we left which was perfectly fine bc we no longer wanted to support a business who chooses to enforce a policy when the restaurant is basically empty. The whole thing could've been handle better. It was completely unnecessary to make us wait for 2 people to walk in when they were in the parking lot.while the food is good, we definitely won't be giving this place any more chances. It's not worth it. The staff is always slow while serving. Food takes forever. They don't care if their customers have a good experience or not. So honestly this experience was just a reminder of why we hadn't...
Read moreWe have visited Olde Town Pizzeria in Plant City and in Brandon several times through the years after finding it on Yelp during a road trip. The Strawberry Salad is their signature menu item and their claim to fame that will keep you coming back. I'm not a big salad or vegetable eater but this salad is always the first thing I have in my mind to order. Tonight we ordered one large one ($9.99)to share and I ate half of it (split between the two of us). Normally I'd have a small amount of a good salad. It is a pretty simple salad with romaine lettuce, fresh chopped strawberries, fresh shredded mozzarella, candied chopped walnuts and a strawberry vinaigrette dressing that they make in house. I cannot truly describe how tasty this salad is. We also ordered the Chicken Parmesan Dinnerwith linguini and a slice of garlic toast ($12.99) for one meal and a medium thin crust roasted garlic pizza ($14.75) for the second meal. The chicken Parmesan is enough to share or take home leftover. It is served with marinara and a baked on Parmesan and mozzarella. The Roasted Garlic Chicken pizza does not have a red sauce and it is nicely garlicy, not too much, it is just right. The thin crust isn't quite as thin as I'd like but it is nice. I was hoping for a crisp cracker like crust and this one is a bit thicker and a bit more doughy, but still very nice. Our server tonight is Courtney and she is friendly and just attentive enough. I drink a lot of iced tea and my glass hasn't stayed empty long at all. The restaurant is fairly small and the tables have remained filled throughout our meal. They are able to accommodate larger groups as well as small groups like the two of us. We definitely recommend that you experience Olde Town Pizzeria even if you only order the Strawberry Salad. I would have been just as happy if we only...
Read moreOverall a good experience, it smelled amazing as soon we walked in. The waiting area was packed and we had no where to stand other than the middle of the seating area where we felt like we were in the way. We eventually got a seat and then the employees started asking us if we knew who was dining in or taking out. The front/greeting area was a bit chaotic to say the least.
Once we sat down we ordered our drinks, mozzarella sticks, and strawberry salad. Our drinks and the mozzarella sticks came out quickly and the strawberry salad came by the time we were done with the mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks were amazing and probably some of the best I have ever had. My wife and I split the salad and it was above average as well.
We then ordered a medium deep dish supreme pizza. At first, I was a little disappointed in how it looked. The pizza seemed really small for a medium pizza. It was more of the size of a small pizza from Pizza Hut. The deep dish looked like a bread bowl full of sauce and the cuts were super uneven. However, the pizza tasted way better than it looked! It wasn’t too salty which is what I have seen to be common in Florida pizza.
In the end I think we will be coming back when family is in town. The food is well priced. We got everything mentioned above for about $40. I would recommend others to...
