This is really a no frills grocery store. But you can find some odd things you won't find at your average store too.
This particular store is typically a bit disheveled. Not because of the staff, but more so from those who shop there. People will decide mid shopping that they didn't want something and just put it on the closest shelf. So don't be surprised if you find raw chicken in the canned aisle.
Some of the odd things you can find are home decor, grills, faux plants, shoes, etc. Some of the items are very cheap.
I believe most Aldi's are laid out about the same. You come in and you'll find cookies and crackers and bread. Then you're in produce.
Everything is laid out. Produce for the most part looks fresh. You can get some good deals there. Along the back wall are the refrigerated items. Last I saw eggs were less than $2.00. A very good price.
They also have a good selection of ready made food items such as salads and dinners. The frozen aisle is about the same.
One thing I like is their selection of chocolate. You can get a bar of chocolate for a bit over $1.50. Most other places for the same sized bar will be about a dollar more.
Their wine is extremely cheap. A bottle of merlot was a bit over $3.00. Now I don't drink the stuff but rather cook with it. It's good stuff.

Read moreI used to look down at Aldi for many years, but after learning that both Aldi and Trader Joe's are kind of related, my opinion has changed. Since I have always liked Trader Joe's, and looked down at Aldi. Lessons learned.

Aldi Nord focuses on Northern Germany, while Aldi Süd covers Southern Germany. While they operate under the same core principles of discount grocery shopping, they differ in store layout, product selection, and branding, with Aldi Süd generally considered to have a more modern and varied offering.

Read moreIt was extremely crowded. This particular Aldi's was lacking a variety of name brand items. I purchase a fresh whole chicken when I got it home it's still had quite a few feathers and there was a big black hair on it. On the plus side I had no problem returning it and the manager gave me double my money back because it was a inferior product. Also on the plus side although the check out lines were long, the dervice was quick and efficient. After reviewing many of the products in the store, I saw a little difference in the prices they're then from the prices and other local grocery stores. You have to pay a quarter to get a cart and you have to bring your own plastic bags or you're charged $0.02 a bag for the bags they provide. I will never go...
