Saffrano Crepes — Restaurant in Plantation

I have made special plans to be at this place several times, convincing friends join me each time at this location instead of going anywhere else. I do think that the food is amazing however the servers are cold and unfriendly. Also they do not entertain any changes or substitutions. That’s OK. However, I have had this issue several times on weekdays. They open at 8:30 am(at least the website, the door sign and google say that). I have tried to convince my friends try to accommodate a quick coffee or a brunch or a breakfast before we head out to work. It has happened three times in a row and that’s why I’m posting this review since the owner was unreachable when I tried calling. The first time I reached at sharp 8:30, I was told by a different server quite rudely that they were not ready and even though the timings say 8:30 I’ll have to wait another 10-15 minutes. Normally that’s OK on a weekend. However, when you’re rushing to work, it’s becomes a little bit challenge. Never mind I thought it was a one time event, second time again same thing and each time it’s a different server. This morning I had a quick coffee planned at Ella's, but I requested my friends to come to this location because I really like their food. I reached there just before 8:30. We waited outside and around 8:35 a girl comes in opens the door. She also was quite unwelcoming and let us know that we cannot come in for another 10-15 minutes. We told her that we are kind of in a rush as we have to go to work. NO response or attempt to accommodate. My request to manager, If you are running a small business we are happy to support you, but at least stick to timings, and if your staff is delayed its ok 1 time but three in a row, that's a problem. They should at least come 10-15 minutes before so they can open their doors at 8:30. There was no regard, no sorry nothing she said yeah we are we are delayed. We had to leave. I called and spoke to Hayden to let me speak to the manager. I was told she is very busy and she doesn’t have that much time and there’s no specific time when she can be reached. I have personally (by word of mouth) brought a lot of business to their location, but seems like they don't care. They need to work on improving their customer service and punctuality. I would appreciate a response from the manager at some point of time as she’s apparently very busy to be reached by her...

7/31/21 This place is really a hidden jewel! I can't tell how many times I've been on this plaza and had no clue this restaurant was here! I went for lunch and my expectations were surpassed. Upon arrival we realized inside was full so we stayed outside which was fine too. Our server Fernando was so helpful and attentive to us. He made good suggestions and helped guide us through so thanks for that! I can safely say our food was like nothing we've ever had before. The presentation and flavors did not disappoint at all. Everything was so delicious and beautiful I didn't want to eat it but once I started I couldn't stop 🥲 I will definitely make this place a regular stop for me so I can try more of the menu and experience all the exotic flavors this place has to offer. 8/7/21 Update!! I've been back twice in one week since my initial visit!! (I did say it would become a regular stop for me). These two times I got to sit inside which was much cooler and I was able to appreciate the decor more. The food again did not miss! I feel like you just can't go wrong with this place. From the ambiance to the excellent flavors to the super friendly staff (shout out to my server Anthony!!) My goal is to try the entire menu 😁 9/1/21 Update!! Hello, it's me again! 😌 I've been frequenting this joint and I have no shame in saying that. I'm swiftly making my way through the menu (as planned) and so far all the items have been top tier. I gave the smoothie and ice cream a try recently and the were really good. Smoothie not too sweet and ice cream very smooth and rich! Found this hidden gem and couldn't be happier about it. I was on a date day with my daughter and she wanted crepes. We were in the area and Saffrano Crepes popped up. I thought this was the type of place you order at the countertop and pick up your food. Turns out it's a super cute little restaurant with full service.

The decor is has a Parisian feel with tones of aqua or Tiffany blue. Very calming feel when you walk in. Our server Valeria took good care of us and was very sweet. Everything on the menu looked delicious so it was hard to choose. We got the Osaka (smoked salmon, cucumber, sour cream, avocado, chives, sweet-spicy sauce) and Veneto (tiramisu crepe cake with chocolate ganache). I also snagged a Dalgona coffee, because not many places offer this.

Dalgona coffee was made to perfection with a super thick and foamy whipped topping. Nice bitter bite with a touch of sweetness. So good. Our Osaka dish came out and the presentation was cool. Loved the rolled salmon crepe display. Tasted even better as that crepe wrap was nice and thin. The salmon was fresh and cold to the bite. Dude. My daughter really loved this dish. It wasn't too heavy which worked out nicely since we saved room for the tiramisu crepe cake. Oh man, the tiramisu crepe cake was smooth and creamy and tasted like pure heaven.

At the end of lunch, another staff member stopped by our table and I asked if she was the owner. Wanted to tell her how much we loved this experience. Her name was Louisa and she is the best friend of the owner. Louisa gave us the backstory of how the store got started. It's a cool story. Ask about it if you ever get a chance to swing by here.

We loved this new find and my daughter even said she wants to come here for her birthday with the whole family. Definitely eyeing some of those other menu items....
